By Greg Ellison Staff Writer (July 19, 2019) U.S. Winds’ pending installation of an offshore 300plus foot meteorological tower, originally slated for mid-July, was delayed after Hurricane Barry made landfall at Intercoastal City, Louisiana on Saturday. The meteorological tower, which was constructed by EPIC Applied Technologies in Louisiana, was to be transported north to its eventual destination 17-miles offshore of the Ocean City coastline. City Engineer Terry McGean said the extreme weather conditions have altered the original time frames for installation. “It was supposed to have left Louisiana on Friday,” he said.
