Welcome to the March 2017 newsletter produced to keep residents up to date with what’s happening on Badbury Park Royal Mail Post Box
Bus shelters
Our ward councillor is working towards getting a Royal Mail Post Box for Badbury Park. Our suggested location is the Spotted Cow but please let us know of any other suggestions.
We are monitoring the new bus route through Badbury Park, especially who will be responsible for looking after the newly installed bus shelters. We are also listening to concerns about some of the bus shelters placements.
Community Governance Review We have been extremely busy responding to the Community Governance Review (CGR) following our unsuccessful attempt to become a non-parish but Swindon Borough Council (SBC). Full Council did agree that we may seek to enhance our own identity and may merit another CGR once the development is finished on receipt of
substantive evidence being put forward to justify this. We have written to SBC Leader Cllr David Renard that Badbury Park has a management company who can provide convenient and effective local governance but they just don’t get how the Precept and Managements work.
We are now writing to John Gilbert, Chief Executive for Swindon Borough Council that the CGR was flawed.
BT Open Reach and competition Badbury Park Residents Group had written to Robert Buckland MP on the unfair competition by BT Open Reach , which doesn’t allow residents to find alternative Broadband suppliers.
