Foreword by Ben Gay III

I

MET PAUL DEMOCRITOU online after he reached out to me on Fa-

cebook in . He was a fan of my The Closers series. At the time Paul had gone bankrupt, but I was immediately struck by his positivity. In all our conversations, he remained upbeat and confident, treating every struggle as a temporary setback. I advised him to go back to basics, and go back to basics he did, grinding it out as I watched him climb to the top opening companies and participating in new ventures. I was very saddened when he messaged me again in , and shared that he had cancer. What amazed me was that he didn’t seem phased even by that, and maintained the same positive attitude he had the first time he told me he hit rock bottom. Paul told me he was writing a book while fighting cancer and receiving chemotherapy. A lot of people say they will write a book and never get to it, but I knew Paul would be different. Sure enough, a few months later Paul told me he had finished the book and asked would I like to receive a pre-edit copy, as he would value my advice on it. He was preparing for a stem cell transplant, and planning to donate / of the proceeds from the book to people fighting cancer, and planning seminars which he would offer free to people fighting cancer. I was impressed not only by his unwaveringly positive attitude, but by the humility and dedication he brought to his work.

vii

PAUL DEMOCRITOU Needless to say, I read the book, and loved it. Paul didn’t just turn out another book on success, or a personal memoir, but managed to weave the two together. He shares his story and his struggles, from having had to dictate the book and have it transcribed, sometimes from his hospital bed, to the lessons he learned from his mentors in life, all with his unmistakable mix of humour and grit I have come to know so well. I was touched to see myself and my work mentioned and acknowledged in the book, along with so many other great writers, and Paul’s mentors throughout his life. Knowing my work had such a great influence on someone so inspirational long before we ever met is a great source of pride for me. Of course, I can’t take the credit; as you will see, Paul has made a lifelong habit of learning from everyone he meets, absorbing their lessons, thinking deeply about them, and adding his own unique spin on things. It would have been easy, having sent the book for editing, for Paul to sit back and relax, take time to recover, and wait for the proofs to be ready. But that isn’t Paul’s style. Still fighting cancer, he set up a website and a YouTube channel, and started posting videos. Even though he was visibly sick in some of them, he still projected an aura of confidence and positivity, and shared valuable messages with his audience, which now included me. Sometimes, it was hard to believe this guy had cancer, and his productivity put most healthy people to shame. Yet the work rate never seemed to take its toll; Paul remained irrepressibly happy and positive. We had continued to exchange messages, and moved beyond simple acquaintance, so when Paul mentioned that he would love to write a book with me one day, and modestly suggested he would ask me after this first book was published, and he had established himself, I had no hesitation. I didn’t need to wait, I already knew Paul had the right work ethic, the right values, and the drive and ability to succeed many times over. I’d watched his videos and read the early manuscripts. So, it was my pleasure both to write the foreword for this book, and to begin work on The Closers – Part , a book so long

SUCCESS IAO overdue I had begun to think it might never be written. Now I know it was just waiting for the right time, and the right partner, to come along and join The Closers brand. Welcome to the team, Paul. I am looking forward to working with you, and teaching the next generation of Closers together. Ben Gay III Placerville, CA January WWW.BFG .COM

I TOLD anyone I was writing a book, they would ask if I was writing it on my own. Partly because I was fighting cancer and receiving chemotherapy at the time, and partly because I never wrote a book before. These acknowledgements are my answer to that. Of course I wasn’t writing alone; I was writing with the support of every mentor, every family member, every friend, colleague, or competitor who ever helped me learn and grow. The other question most asked was what the book was all about. Many people assumed it would be a memoir of my experience fighting cancer. Even though that experience was shared in the book, I never wanted it to be all about me. Instead, I wanted to write a book focused on helping people to succeed and take their destiny in their own hands. As positive and dedicated as I may be, I can’t help, like so many other patients facing potentially terminal illness, thinking about how much time I have left in this world. While at no point was I ready to give in to cancer, and believed throughout that I would win and beat it, I did have some doubts, but reassured myself with the power of God. Cancer forces you to confront your own mortality. None of us can live forever. All we can do is focus on how we live, and what we leave behind. I wanted to leave something that would both help people remember me, and encourage them to make the most of the time given to them. The acknowledgements below are in no particular order, except the first. HENEVER

To everyone who prayed for me to get better and carry on, thank you, I will always remember. My grandmother Liza, who I still pray for her every day, even though she is no longer with us, and my friend Themis who is also not with us today. My editor Sandra Gail Seymour, who not only transcribed parts of my book and edited my work, but also encouraged me to keep

SUCCESS IAO writing when the pain and workload overwhelmed me. I could honestly say that if it wasn’t for her this book would not be possible and it is as much hers as mine. I would like to thank Ben Gay III, for his prayers but also support. It meant a lot to me that my favourite author, who I consider a mentor, would not only help and encourage me, but also agree to work with me on future projects. I would like to acknowledge people I consider online mentors that I have learnt from studying their material. This includes Grant Cardone, Tai lopez, David Goodman (KingHuman), Patrick Bet David, Bob Proctor, and Tony Robbins to name a few and recommend studying their material. I would also like to recommend the following YouTube channels. Owen Hemsath (Owen Video) who also beat cancer. Nick Nimmin who also made the book cover and my graphics on YouTube. Brian G Johnson for his great advice. Keep teaching, guys. Finally, I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and medical staff who saved my life, treated me along the way, and did everything in their power to make the experience bearable. You are reallife superheroes and you have my eternal gratitude. As I am writing these acknowledgments, I have received news that my stem cell transplant worked and I am in % remission. I chose Greece and public hospitals Evagelismo and Agios Savvas, as even though the doctors here are underpaid and overloaded with work, the hospitals are understaffed and don’t have equipment or have lack of supplies, the doctors are some of the best in the world and they care. I rested my life confidently in their hands. I’d like to thank the doctors and staff at Evagelismo, Dr Karmiris and his team, Dr Konstantina Sakelariou, Dr Zoi Arapidou, Dr Christina Papi and Dr Frini Karaolidou for all her help and support, and all the lung department staff. Dr Menios, a new addition to the team and the doctor who watched over me. Anastasia and Meni, my two personal nurses watching over me hours a day for more than a month.

PAUL DEMOCRITOU The doctors and staff at Agios Savvas: the Bone marrow transplant department: Dr Pouli, Dr Tsakanikas, Dr Sioni and Dr Tsirogianni, plus the doctors checking in on me as well as the nursing department, Mrs Paraskevi Ferfeli and all the staff. You were all great and took very good care of me. My personal doctor Dr Kariminas who suspected the problem just by touching me and sent me for further checks. You saved my life. Dr Dimitra Giatrakou and Stulianos Mataleros. Dimitra also suspected the problem using just and ultra sound and sent me for CT Scans. Dr Ilias Evmorfiadis, Dr Ioannis Tsevgas, and Dr Costarello at the Mediterraneo hospital, as well as all the staff. To everyone who expressed their concern and support, who it was not possible to mention here, either because I didn’t get your name, or lost it somewhere in the fog of chemotherapy, know I have not and never will forget you. I have prayed for all of you, and will carry your prayers and good wishes in my heart forever.

IFFERENT PEOPLE DEFINE success in various ways. To some,

success is all about financial wealth; to others, it's about family. Some deem success as becoming a world-class champion athlete, while others may find success reaching the top in their current career. Before you read this book, I suggest you take a moment to think about what success means to you. What does it look like? How does it feel? How hard are you prepared to work to make it happen? While this book is largely concerned with financial success, the same rules and principles can be applied to all other aspects of your life. Here, we’ll be focusing on making you financially wealthy to get past your problems and become free. First, this book will not only help you with the mindset and tools you need to obtain success, it will also start you off with action plans to make money. Even if you don't have a Euro to your name, I will help you make money. At the end of this book, I will give you action
