Description

OSHA considers an inpatient hospitalization as a “formal admission to the impatient service or a hospital or clinic for care or treatment. Amputation is the surgical removal of all or part of a limb or extremity such as an arm, leg, foot, hand, toe, or finger. Amputations include fingertips, with or without bone loss. Starting on January 1st many industries that were formerly exempt from OSHA Log 300, Form 301 and 300A, will now be required to maintain these injury and illness records. Although many industries are effected by these new changes, Healthcare and Dental professionals are still exempt from these requirements. Keep in mind other record keeping requirements are still mandatory, such as Exposure Incident reports and the Sharp Injury Log. The previous list of partially exempt industries was based off the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system.. Healthcare and Dental Professionals are lists under the 6211-6215 NAICS designation codes
