POLICY MAKERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD Dr. Malcolm Read, Executive Secretary of JISC and Mr. Hal Plotkin, Senior Policy Advisor to the Undersecretary of the U.S. Department of Education gave informative and inspiring keynote speeches. Policy makers from around the world came and shared their experiences with OpenCourseWare at policy level. Experiences were shared and plans for future collaborations were made at the Policy maker’s lunch.
BEST PRACTICES POLICIES, TECHNOLOGY AND PROJECTS Over sixty presentations on policies at different levels, new technological developments, and new and ongoing projects were delivered during the conference. For the first time at the OCW Consortium Global Meeting, all three tracks were webcasted real time. All the videos are available at the links in this booklet.
SYNERGY CREATIVE COMMONS VIETNAM LAUNCH OpenCourseWare is no longer a movement at a selected few universities; it is a worldwide movement that spans over many different sectors. It also is a very integral part of the wider OER community. This is why the launch event of Creative Commons Vietnam was planned as a part of the Conference. The CC Vietnam launch was a chance for the Vietnamese academics to learn about both OCW and the use of open licenses. The Consortium will continue to work with the wider OER community to create more impact and synergy.
