FEATURES AND MANIFESTO OF THE ASSOCIATION The Sixth Form Association will operate for approximately 8 months; from September 2011 to April 2012. This association will seek to unify upper and lower sixth forms and involve both groups in various activities, aimed at improving character and enhancing discipline. The association intends to raise funds through the sale of items at school, association members and from corporate sponsors. These funds will be used to institute scholarships for both upper and lower school students outside of the sixth form community. The association intends to award the first scholarship to a fifth former by the end of October to help pay for his/her subjects then in January 2012 to either a third former. The association’s manifesto, will focus on volunteerism and donating to charity (Children’s and Golden age homes) rather than just leisure activities and by so doing help members to understand the value of giving. Membership to the association will be open to all sixth formers, with executives being chosen from both upper and lower sixth. The executive body will include a President, two vice presidents; one in charge of programs inside the schools and one for external outreach programs, a Secretary and an Assistant, Treasurer and an Assistant, two PROs from either form, one being in charge of upper school and the other lower school. The president will not be chosen from among the heads or deputies, however, all other executive posts are open to those leaders. It is the intention of the group to host meetings for an hour on Tuesdays at 3:05 pm in a room that is available for use. All meetings will be supervised by teachers. All outreach activities can be recorded on voluntary service cards which will be made available to all association members.
