PARENTS & FAMILIES NEWSLETTER

Dear Monarch Parents and Families,

I want to keep you informed about the exciting events that your student may be experiencing while living on campus at Old Dominion University I understand that it can be difficult to stay up-to-date with all that is going on, which is why we are here to help

As we head into the fall semester, I want to share resources available to your student on campus From safety and academic tips to mental health resources, the Housing & Residence Life is committed to provide a safe and supportive environment for all students I encourage you to have open and honest conversations with your student about their experiences, and to reach out to me if you have any concerns

I hope you find this newsletter informative and helpful If you have any suggestions for future topics or feedback on this edition, please do not hesitate to contact us at housing@odu edu Remember to follow us on Instagram @ODUHRL and Facebook ODUHousingandResLife.

Thank you for your continued support of ODU and your student!

CONVERSATIONS WITH YOUR STUDENT

In today's fast-paced world, it can be easy to lose touch with our loved ones. Conversation starters are a helpful way for parents to stay connected with their students and ensure that they are providing the support and guidance that they need. Remember, active listening is the key to successful communication, and parents should always strive to be present and engaged in their children's lives
