Total isolation valves (DRY)

Total isolation solenoid valves (DRY) combine the traditional valve characteristics of strength and reliability with construction materials that make them particularly suitable for the control of aggressive and/or non-contaminable fluids. The fluid is in contact only with the valve body and the isolation lever or isolation diaphragm; in this way the fluid is protected from any chemical contamination and/or thermic shock. Produced in 2/2 or 3/2 normally closed, open or universal versions plus miniaturised, silent versions and with a latching actuator. The numerous versions available, the variety of materials employed and the possibility of producing special versions make this range of solenoid valves particularly versatile, suitable for applications in the food, biotechnology, chemical/pharmaceutical and physiological/medical sectors. User friendly process meter has scrolling help text The Codix 56X process meters are equipped with a practical, quick, startup guide and scrolling help text that eliminate the need to wade through detailed instruction manuals. The ultra bright LED display is easy to read and the scrolling help texts greatly simplify the set up and programming of the unit. The quick start guide is a fold out card attached to the front of the unit that can be removed and re-attached as required making onerous reading of extensive instruction manuals a thing of the past. There are three input options to allow the connection of standard analogue, temperature and strain gauge signals. The two output relays can be used for limit monitoring with adjustable hysteresis and time delays. One nice feature is that two inputs and one of the front panel buttons can be programmed to user specific requirements allowing the units to be customised to your exact application. 4

Customise your controls with symbols instead of text Customising pushbuttons or control stations with symbols is a great way to improve your machine making operation for your customers even easier and safer. Of course we can use text as well but it is often easier to understand what is meant using symbols. This is especially important if you export your machines all over the world as symbols can be read internationally regardless of language. Together with Baco, we can offer competitive, customised solutions to your exact specification. There is effectively no minimum order quantity and initial samples can usually be produced very quickly. In addition to special markings we can of course offer all the standard texts and symbols according to the various ISO and DIN standards. 6

OEM INSIDE AUTOMATION 2011-3 WWW.OEM.CO.UK

Control stations can also be supplied in non standard colours, custom marked, fitted with glands, pre cabled and fitted out to your specification including all pushbuttons, contacts and LED’s. Simply provide us with details of your requirement including suitable files of any special symbols needed and we will do the rest.

Unique solid state relays offer trouble free long lifetime Delcon produce specialised solid state interface relays that utilise pulse transformer technology which gives some unique advantages over traditional electro-mechanical and opto-coupler based solid state relays. These features help ensure a long lifetime and trouble free performance in harsh industrial applications where difficult loads, noise and interference can cause big problems. Please read on for more detail about these unique relays and how they can save you money in the long-term. Problems with interference Power cables installed adjacent to signal cables, especially over long cable runs, create a capacitive effect that can cause relays to switch on or stay on after the control signal switches off. Transients in the power supply can cause damage to relays and interference from frequency inverters can provide false on/off switching. Solution Delcon relays have built-in capacitive suppression to allow safe, reliable operation even with very long cable runs. An RC circuit protects the relays from transients and high frequency interference. Problems with signaling Electrical disturbances can cause the LED indicator of relays to glow when the relay is switched off and no input signal is present. This makes it difficult to quickly diagnose faults and rectify problems. Solution The Delcon relay LED is synchronized with the output so it is impossible for it to glow without being on. The relays have good hysteresis with clearly defined on/off points for reliable operation in high noise environments.

Cost of Delcon Cost of E-Mech relay Cost of downtime

Problems with inductive loads Contactors and solenoid valves are commonly used throughout industry; there are also problematic inductive loads for electromechanical relays to handle where contacts can weld and lifetime is reduced. Solution Delcon ac output relays are rated at 3A and can switch inductive loads without any derating. Delcon dc output relays have no derating up to 24Vdc and thereafter still offer significantly less derating compared to electro-mechanical relays. Problems with high DC voltage Electro-mechanical relay contacts are significantly derated at higher dc voltages and usually require special versions that are physically bigger and take up more space. Solution Delcon dc output relay types CRA & CRA4 can switch up to 300Vdc without any derating compared to electro-mechanical relays and in a smaller package.

Changing relays is a costly business! Compared to the total system cost a relay is a relatively inexpensive component but a relay that fails in a system runs the risk of becoming the most expensive component. Choosing a relay with a shorter life span than the entire system will probably result in costly unwanted system downtime! Choosing Delcon relays for your system will improve your long term profitability. The cost of system downtime differs depending on the type of industry but is usually very expensive. If we consider only the cost of trouble shooting and replacing a faulty relay for the first time then the initial cost of choosing Delcon is already covered.

Flow sensors for water applications Display with 3 outputs

Programmable - 2 outputs

From Honsberg, OEM Automatic can now offer new options for the XF range of flow sensors whereas previously, the pressure and temperature capabilities were limited by the use of plastic parts. Honsberg has now improved the performance significantly by using brass and stainless steel and the sensors can now cope with pressures up to 100 bar and temperatures to 130°C. The measuring technique, based on a flexible stainless steel spring plate is unchanged. This measurement technology means no moving parts in contact with the medium, which provides several advantages in terms of longer life, very low pressure drop and fast response times.

Analogue output

The flow sensor is available with analog output 4-20mA, 0-10 V, frequency or PNP / NPN. Should further output options or a display be required the XF can also be combined with other Honsberg measurement systems; Omni or Flex. Do you have a reliable cable screen connection?

In many industrial applications signal interference immunity is often achieved through the use of screened/shielded cables. Good termination of the cable screen to ground is essential but can be problematic to achieve using standard terminals or lugs! With this in mind Contaclip has developed a wide range of screen connection clips that offer a neat, reliable clamping system while

maintaining a low resistance termination which is critical to keep noise to a minimum. Various mounting / connection options are available for cables up to 35mm2 and all provide a quick, easy, professional looking solution. A product specific brochure detailing the whole range is available upon request.

Simple spring loaded clamps that are quick to terminate and available for mounting on bus bar or directly to DIN rail

Direct mounting spring loaded clamps for non DIN rail / bus bar applications

Traditional screw down clamps for mounting on bus bar
