We work closely with our customers’ projects, in collaboration with our sales team and product managers. We follow a clear project handling model and through detailed and clear dialogue this enables us to offer the best solution to our customers. NEEDS ANALYSIS
The needs analysis is an essential part of the preliminary study. Done in close cooperation with the customer, it is documented to understand the full technical and commercial requirements of the project.
PROJECT PLANNING
Based on the needs analysis, suitable products are proposed and evaluated with the customer. Quotations and drawings are supplied, targets finalised and time scales agreed.
PROTOTYPE
COMMITMENT & COMPETENCE The Motors business area within OEM Automatic Ltd represents specialist leading brands within the motor, drive and linear solutions sector. We offer a wide range of high quality products at competitive prices. Providing full technical advice on all aspects of product selection, we supply standard and customised products for OEM applications. A large selection is available from stock at our Leicester based logistics centre.

PRE-PRODUCTION
Upon successful testing and evaluation, a pre-production run is done to test and check against the prototype for final technical approval.

After successful pre-production supply and feedback, the project passes on to continuous deliveries with technical and logistic support throughout.
MOTORS & GEARS
WE OFFER A COMPLETE RANGE OF AC, BRUSHLESS, DC & STEPPER MOTORS FROM LEADING MANUFACTURERS IN EUROPE & ASIA Power range from 1W up to 1kW (1/3 phase 24-415 Va.c & 3-120 Vd.c), motors are available with a range of inline or right-angled gearboxes to fit the technical performance required. We also supply accessories such as encoders and brakes to suit the application needs. The motor range offers specific solutions for low noise applications and aggressive environmental conditions using stainless steel motors with protection up to IP69K. With the close partnerships built over many years with our manufacturers, we can provide options ranging from standard off the shelf solutions through to a full custom designs bespoke for your applications.
AC MOTORS Our range of AC motors include both asynchronous & synchronous technologies. Single phase AC motors are suitable for on/off fixed speed applications whereas inverter driven three phase AC motors are more suited where control of speed or soft start is required. Suitable for applications such as conveyors where service life & durability are prioritised.
BRUSHLESS MOTORS Our range of brushless motors include both inner & outer rotor technologies. Electronic rather than mechanical commutation provides a long service life. Due to higher efficiency & stronger magnets a brushless motor will offer higher torque & power output when compared with a AC or DC motor of a comparable size. Suitable for applications such as labelling machinery, where accurate control is required over speed & position.
DC MOTORS Our DC motor range comprises standard ferrite magnet motors or rare earth magnets for higher power density. Ideal for short & intensive operations where a low voltage DC power source is available. DC motors are easy to control with a PWM drive. Suitable for battery powered and portable device applications.
STEPPER MOTORS Our range of stepper motors includes both 2 & 3 phase hybrid motors and NEMA linear actuators. Open loop speed and position are easily controlled using a pulse train from a controller. Typically used in machinery where low speed, high torque and positioning are prioritised without the need of a gearbox.

DRIVE ELECTRONICS WE OFFER A COMPLETE RANGE OF MOTOR DRIVES & MOTORS WITH INTEGRATED DRIVES FROM LEADING MANUFACTURERS IN EUROPE & ASIA Most applications need some type of motor control to achieve the correct protection & required performance. Our range extends from a cost-effective drive for speed control, current limiting & direction control to more advanced intelligent motor control with integrated motion controller. The more advanced drives have the ability to communicate on different network protocols such as EtherCAT or CANopen. Working closely with the customer & our specialised manufacturers to identify the full application requirements, we can supply a fully customised bespoke solution as well as standard off the shelf products.
SPEED, TORQUE & POSITION CONTROL Our range of speed, torque & position drives up to 4.2 kW are suitable for controlling DC, brushless & stepper motor technologies in most applications. General control functions include PWM speed control, controlled direction change, current limiting, acceleration/deceleration ramps & positional pulse counting. Used predominately for single axis standalone applications with the drive functions controlled via switches or PLC input.
PRECISE & REPEATABLE POSITIONAL CONTROL
MOTORS WITH INTEGRATED CONTROL
Our range of intelligent motor drives up to 1.6 kW are suitable for controlling DC, brushless, linear & stepper motors all from the same drive. The drive combines both servo drive & motion controller in one unit for a highly programmable solution. Used for precise & repeatable positional control using feedback from an encoder. Single axis or multi axis operation, the drive can operate from preprogrammed motion sequences or as a slave on a master network with communication protocols such as EtherCAT or CANopen.
Our range includes brushless, stepper and AC with built-in inverter and brushless motors with high resolution encoders & programming positioning drivers controlled on a bus network. Combining the motor & drive into one unit is an ideal solution for standalone or multi-axis applications where compactness, reduced cabling & intelligence are required such as factory AGVs.

Our product specialists have close partnerships with manufacturers. We make use of their deep knowledge and experience to offer basic adaptations to standard products through to complete special designs for a fully bespoke factory produced technical & physical solution tailored as per customers’ specific application requirements.

CARE AID Applications where products are often designed from the ground up for specific and individual applications, we supply Vd.c and BLDC geared motors for battery powered applications and also small precision products for robots to assist with personal disabilities.
AGRICULTURE Often battery powered applications requiring Vd.c and BLDC solutions with high IP ratings with robust characteristics for environmentally challenging conditions. We also supply mechanical components for the varying and changeable heat and moisture conditions found in this sector.
MEDICAL & PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY An industry that demands high quality components for applications ranging from analyser machines & instrumentation typically used in environments where noise levels are a consideration for motors, to process and packaging machines where stainless steel housed motors and gears, can be supplied by Mini Motor.
Often several complex multi-axis drive systems can be found where many processes are carried out. We supply motors and geared motors from all technologies to this sector, including products with a bus interface and integrated motor drive electronics.
BUILDING AUTOMATION This is an ever-developing industry sector which requires all the product technologies we supply - door or access barrier control, security, roof skylight opening and HVAC control requiring simple motor products to motor drives controlled by remote key fobs.
MARINE We provide motors & drives to sun roofs, window lifting and onboard automation applications to this industry sector where harsh environmental conditions are the norm. IP65 and IP69k geared motors found in our programme are commonly used here.

We host thousands of product solutions with detailed technical information, downloads and access to 2D and 3D files in a wide range of formats. Our Product Managers drive the product development and in tandem with our Marketing team continually develop our website offer, launching information on new and developing products via email campaigns and also on a host of social media platforms for immediate access.
FIRST CLASS SUPPORT & LOGISTICS WITH A DEDICATED CUSTOMER SUPPORT TEAM TO HELP AND GUIDE ALL INCOMING ENQUIRIES, AND A WORLD-CLASS LOGISTICS TEAM ENSURING ON-TIME DELIVERIES – ACCURACY AND EFFICIENCY ARE KEY FOCUS AREAS FOR US Our trained Customer Support Team is the main point of contact for all incoming calls. They enter customer orders into our ERP system and guide customers to the correct technical Product Manager if their requirements are more complex. By utilising six ‘state of the art’ vertical storage lifts, we have 1,200m2 shelving space from our overall floor space footprint of only 72m2. These lifts, together with high rise pallet racking for larger components, ensure stock is handled with a high level of efficiency and accuracy to meet customer demands for service.
