Distribution Blocks
Introduction Teknomega offer a variety of distribution blocks which are used in terminal board distribution units. These include single blocks and compact blocks permitting the units to range from 40 A up to 500 A. The distribution block range can be used in various applications including switchboards, automation, control panels and distribution boards. Terminal board distribution blocks The 2-4 pole electrical distribution blocks from Teknomega are suitable for applications which range from 40 A to 160 A. The blocks can be fitted on to a din rail and include a unique yellow translucent protection screen. The 4-Pole modular up & down blocks are rated 160 A and are used in applications where there are too many wiring inputs and outputs to be placed on one side of the block. The 4-Pole side input distribution block is used for space saving and allows the incoming cables to be positioned at a 90° angle. Compact distribution blocks Ranging from 80 A to 500 A the 1 and 3 pole blocks suit applications where the effective short-circuit current value is higher than 10 kA. A guided access system has been introduced to each connection making the wiring easy and simple. Using galvanized steel for the screws and clamps increases the lifetime of the terminal blocks as the coating protects against corroding and rusting making them resistant to mechanical damage. Quick distribution blocks These range from 76 A and are available in 1 and 2 poles. The quick indirect spring hook-up outputs are efficient and safe.
Each block reaches UL approval standards. All the Q BLOCK distribution range can be fitted on DIN rail and/or bottom plate using the specific provisions. www.oem.co.uk

Low voltage Insulators
Introduction The insulators are used as a support for active conductors to provide electrical insulation. The characteristics of the insulators means they can be used for a support for electrical devices whilst giving high mechanical resistance values. The insulators are similarly used for spacing and stiffening elements of a system where copper or aluminium conductor bars are used. The various heights, widths and sizes of the threaded inserts make it possible to select the most suitable reference for the specific installation. The Teknomega range offers two product types both with high electrical insulation and mechanical resistance characteristics. These are obtained by using different production processes and materials. Copper braids TECHNICAL FEATURES

Introduction The copper braid is used as a flexible conductor for all electric connection requirements including power earthing and equipotential connections. These are manufactured from several standard wires between ø 0.10 and ø 0.30 mm which are then twined together to form a cord. When more cords are twined together, a small cross-sectioned braid can be created. If required, further secondary cords can be twined to get the desired cross-section. Three types of copper braid: ROUND
FLAT
Manufactured from tightly interwoven cords until they become a full round section.
Manufactured to the same process as the tubular braids but, flattening it between rollers to the desired dimensions. These braids are used for power, earthing, bonding connections and various other power applications.
They are used for power and mass connections when suitably insulated as an alternative to the cables. Compared to insulated cables with the same cross-section the round braids have better flexibility and a higher current. TUBULAR Manufactured from small interwoven cords until they form a tubular structure. The tubular braids are hollow and are used as a protection sleeve for electric cables to prevent any interferences and disturbances.

The flat braids make flexible connections, which in turn compensate for offsets between elements to be interconnected whilst providing an excellent buffer for when there are vibrations induced. This is generally the case when they are connected to a transformer. If the braid has the same cross-section as the cable or copper bar the braid can take a higher current.

COFLEX Laminated busbar COFLEX Insulated copper flexible bars The COFLEX flexible bar is the only “bi-colour” flexible bar (patented) available and distinguishes itself with its high flexibility.
COFLEX Added Value
COFLEX is the perfect conductor to connect: •M ain power supply and electrical equipment (switches, disconnectors, etc.)
• Busbars included in cabinets and panel boards • Transformers to busbars COFLEX is designed with electrolytic copper lamina and is covered with a highly resistant and selfextinguishing insulation. The flexible bar guarantees electrical insulation in aggressive environments and withstands temperatures up to 160°C. When using COFLEX compared to standard methods such as cable or plain busbar the connections are made easier due to the number of laminas. Creating holes straight on the lamina is safe and reliable which makes panel board installations easier and quicker. Advantages compared to plain bar:
• Higher current for same cross section • R eduction of material used and dimensions • E asier shaping • C ost and time saving compared to the use of busbar supports or insulators for plain bars

COFLEX PLUS is manufactured by using tinned electrolytic copper lamina and is insulated with a high-performance polymer. The COFLEX Plus has the same electrical conduction and flexibility as the standard COFLEX bar. The high-performance bar is halogen free, flame resistant and grants low smoke emissions. The bar itself offers unique solution to increase the reliability of the electrical connection and the safety of electrical equipment. COFLEX COLOUR: The unique bi-colour insulation finish (patented) improves connections aesthetics, making their identification from one another easier when in use. The coloured lines (standard white for CoFlex and light blue for CoFlex Plus) on request might be released with different colours to identify phases or simply match a desired aesthetic. The lines can be customised in colour to meet certain requirements.
COFLEX PACKAGING: Made in pressed carton with high rigidity it prevents the bars from flexing and supports them in any leaning position. The bar can be stored both horizontally and vertically even in a small space, thanks to its rectangular shape.
