A Letter from Julie A. Fream

Letter from the President

The last couple of years have been some of the most tumultuous in the automotive industry’s rich history. As we look at the last 18 months for OESA, we have certainly felt the impact of these challenges.

We remain in the midst of a global pandemic and the fallout continues to take a toll on the industry. While the industry has done it’s best to get through the semiconductor crises, many vehicles are still being sold with an “IOU.” And the continued political division in the U.S., various global challenges, and the “great resignation” are still affecting us.

Despite these obstacles, the automotive industry continues to persevere; and OESA is honored to support our membership through these challenges. We are honored to work with suppliers in this ever-changing industry.

The past few have years enabled OESA to offer new ways to communicate, network and collaborate. As a result, we now have more resources to help our members to stay informed and engaged. We welcomed members back to in-person events and accommodated those who remained virtual. As with most organizations, several OESA employees continued to leave the organization for new opportunities and thus OESA welcomed new employees that give us a fresh perspective.

OESA continues to be a healthy and resilient organization, and we gained strength by learning new ways to thrive. We could not have done any of this without the trust and guidance of our members. We ask that you continue providing us feedback – whether by phone, email, or in-person. We are always here and want to know how we can better serve OESA members.

The automotive industry’s future is full of possibilities and opportunities. This year's Association Update provides our recent accomplishments. We look forward to a bright future with the support of the OESA board of directors, OESA members, the staff and our industry partners.

As always, please feel free to contact me or any member of the OESA staff when you need information or assistance.
