Glennys Sanchez Senior Associate Great Schools Partnership
Few people would argue with the goal of education equity in our schools for all students; however, even a cursory review of our educational system demonstrates that we are far from realizing this dream. Glennys Sanchez and David Ruff from Great Schools Partnership will be presenting tools and ideas from their work in schools and school systems from across the country that have assisted educators in reflecting upon their work, setting equity goals, and engaging in strategies that result in better learning for all students. This is a particularly poignant topic today in the face of the disproportionate racial impact of the pandemic, national violence against black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), and the reality that this unrest impacts all of our students. The Great Schools Partnership is a team of passionate, committed educators and school leaders who bring decades of collective service to redesign public education and improve learning for all students. Working at all levels of the education system, from the classroom to the statehouse, the Great Schools Partnership provides school and district coaching, professional development, and technical assistance to educators, schools, districts, organizations, and government agencies. The organization also creates tools and resources for educators and communities, administers public and private grant programs, and coordinates large-scale school-improvement initiatives for foundations and states. The Great Schools Partnership is the lead coordinator of the New England Secondary School Consortium and League of Innovative Schools.
