LAUTOKA DOWN BUT NOT OUT
After a forgettable first leg of the OFC Champions League final in Wellington, Fiji club Lautoka are keen to restore pride and give home fans something to cheer about when they play the second leg at Churchill Park on Sunday 20 May. Struck by a couple of setbacks ahead of the match at David Farrington Park which meant the side was without three starters going into a crucial encounter.
“The result was unexpected but we will go back to the drawing board to rectify our mistakes and come back with another game plan.
However having been dealt a tough blow in their first experience of an OFC Champions League final they’re keen to hit back in Leg 2.
“Playing in this chilly conditions made things quite difficult for our boys, but I do not blame the weather.
Club president Abdul Kadar said the team now has nothing to lose.
“To all the football fans in general, do come out to support our boys this Sunday,” Kadar said.
