About Belmont University academics

CAM PUS 10 1 Dynamic, unique, creative, caring, curious… those are just a few of the words that come to mind when describing the students, faculty and staff who make up Belmont University. This community consists of individuals intent on lifelong intellectual, social, physical and spiritual growth, and together we’re tackling challenging academics and pursuing lives of meaning and purpose. At Belmont, you won’t simply pursue education in books—you’ll get real world practice and hands-on experience in your chosen field. Our facilities offer state-of-the-art technology that’s rare to find on a college campus, and our students aren’t just observing faculty—they are partnering with them on research, health care simulations, audio productions, filmmaking and more. Plus, abundant opportunities exist for internships for students in any major, and our students can participate in study away and missions programs in a variety of locations in the U.S. and abroad. Your college experience should be an amazing four years that helps prepare you for the rest of your life, and we want to make every moment on this campus memorable. Through captivating courses, vibrant campus life and robust community engagement opportunities, Belmont students are given resources to develop as well-rounded individuals. Plus, with our small class sizes and personal attention, students are able to achieve their desired outcomes, proving again the incomparable value of a Belmont education. Most of all, Belmont is a university that seeks to help students—perhaps YOU—explore their passions and develop their talents to meet the world’s needs.

Embrace Music City DIVE I N TO NASHVI LLE , TE NNE SSE E

Nashville has quickly become America’s “It City,” with hundreds of music venues in all genres and a world-class foodie scene with choices ranging from food trucks to local dive spots to five-star culinary experiences. We also have sports fans covered with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, NHL’s Nashville Predators, MLS’s Nashville Soccer Club and Minor League Baseball’s Nashville Sounds all playing home games within four miles of campus. Belmont’s campus is centered between popular neighborhoods, Hillsboro Village and 12 South— neighborhoods that combine the best of coffee shops and ice cream parlors, quirky boutiques, parks and biking trails and diverse eateries—perfect for meeting up with friends. In this community, the excitement of a fast-paced metropolitan city meets the friendly welcome of Southern charm. But the fun doesn’t stop there. With industries moving to the city faster than you can say “Go, Bruins!” this cultural hub is growing to accommodate more and more organizations in health care, technology, publishing, tourism and higher education, which means more internship and job opportunities for you. Belmont awards a variety of academic merit scholarships to qualified admitted freshmen each year. We make it easy to apply‌ in fact, your application for admission serves as your application for merit scholarships. General freshman academic merit scholarships range from $3,000 to $10,000 annually. General freshman academic merit scholarship notification is made via U.S. Mail following the offer of admission. Recipients of the University’s most competitive and highest merit-based scholarships represent approximately the top two percent of the freshman applicant pool and must have completed the application file by December 1. General freshman academic merit scholarships do not require the December 1 deadline; admitted students are considered for these awards on a rolling basis following the offer of admission. To receive any form of need-based aid from Belmont University, you should complete and return the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by December 1, 2020, for Fall 2021 enrollment.
