UNDERGRADUATE FINANCIAL AID 2020–2021
ME RI T S CHOL AR SHIP S Merit scholarships are awarded to full-time, degree-seeking freshman students only. The application for admission to Belmont— available each fall starting August 1—also serves as the application for these scholarships. Merit scholarships apply towards fall and spring terms only.
For Fall 2021 applicants, Belmont will be “test optional.” Admitted freshmen who did not submit a test score will be considered for merit scholarships on the basis of their high school GPA and other components of the application. Test score and GPA data provided in this document reflect the credentials of the freshman class entering Belmont in Fall 2020.

NAMED SCHOLARSHIPS •
Belmont’s most competitive awards—Archer Presidential, Hearst and Faculty Scholar awards

Must initially qualify at the $10,000 General Academic Merit Scholarship level to be in the pool of consideration for these awards

DEPARTMENTAL AWARDS
Students with credentials similar to those of current freshman class are most competetive for an award (27 ACT, 1213 SAT and 3.70 GPA)

TALENT SCHOLARSHIPS The College of Music and Performing Arts, The O’More College of Architecture and Design, Watkins College of Art, and The Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business (Songwriting major) offer audition/portfolio-based scholarships. Check with each college for specific details. MISCELLANEOUS AWARDS Information on a small number of additional scholarships (Leadership, Endowed/Restricted and those designated for Middle Tennessee residents) can be found at belmont.edu/scholarships/merit.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is the application for need-based aid from Belmont.

The FAFSA is available each fall starting October 1 at studentaid.gov.
•
Priority consideration given to those students submitting the FAFSA by December 1. Submissions after that date will be processed in the order in which they are received.

Eligibility for most forms of aid based on Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as determined by the FAFSA process.

First round of award letters mailed in December.
