Welcome to THE JACK C. MASSEY COLLEGE OF BUSINESS Students enrolled in the Undergraduate School of Business at Belmont University embark on a journey that is both challenging and rewarding as each student is encouraged to utilize his or her unique set of interests and skills to make a positive difference in the world. Having achieved AACSB International accreditation for both business and accounting, our programs have met the requirements for a wide range of quality standards. In addition, we have received national recognition for our innovative programs, placing Belmont among the best in business. The world of business is a dynamic one that offers exciting opportunities in every industry, whether it be health care, banking, publishing, automotive, professional sports, distribution, government, technology‌ the list goes on and on. Belmont’s strong relationship in the business community provides a valuable network for internships and future career opportunities, allowing our students to begin a successful career and to truly go From Here to Anywhere.

It is my pleasure to introduce you to the Jack C. Massey College of Business. Belmont University is the largest Christian university in Tennessee and we are the only private college or university in Tennessee that is accredited by the Association of the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business—International for our B.B.A. and M.B.A. programs as well as our Accounting major and Master of Accountancy degree. Our mission is to provide our students with an innovative learning experience—both practical and discipline based— by faculty who have industry experience and globally recognized academic credentials. As teacher-scholars, they bring their special real-world experience and intellectual curiosity to the classroom every day. Combined with students who are eager to learn and lead in numerous student organizations, such as Enactus, DECA, and the Ethics Bowl, the result is an undergraduate and graduate business education that is consistently ranked among the best in the country in BusinessWeek and the Princeton Review. In addition to the national recognition our degree programs have received, many of our concentrations/majors have earned individual rankings for their innovative programming. Our entrepreneurship program was recently ranked #16 in the U.S. by Entrepreneur Magazine and our rapidly growing International Business major was selected as a Top Program by BusinessWeek. The recognized sign of a high quality business education program is student placement—the percentage of our graduating students who find employment in their areas within six months of graduation. The Massey College of Business placed 97 percent of graduates in the May 2016 class and placed over 200 internships during the academic year. Clearly, our employers see the value in Massey graduates. I invite you to come and check out the energy and excitement in our new “trading room,” innovation lab and entrepreneurship accelerator. With your commitment and motivation, we can take you…From Here to Anywhere.

OUR MISSION The Jack C. Massey College of Business at Belmont University is an innovative, student-centered learning community that prepares entrepreneurial, ethical and socially responsible future business leaders for the dynamic global economy.

REPUTATION MATTERS A successful entrepreneur, Jack C. Massey was the first person in the history of the New York Stock Exchange to take three unrelated companies from private to public listings on the “big board”— Hospital Corporation of America, Kentucky Fried Chicken Corporation and Winner’s Corporation. We believe Mr. Massey’s vision of sustainable success in building a “business school of national reputation” has been realized at Belmont University as we continue to receive recognition for the quality of our programs and celebrate the successes of our graduates.

SMALL CLASS SIZES Small classes (averaging 20 students) at Belmont keep students from getting lost in the crowd and facilitate greater participation in classroom discussions. Our students enjoy getting to know their faculty and peers as they build life-long relationships and network among the best and brightest in business.

TERRIFIC VALUE As a private university in the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Universities Master’s Level South Category, Belmont provides high value to students at a competitive cost. We offer numerous merit and need-based scholarships in addition to standard financial aid options. Business students are also eligible for Glover Accounting & Glover Business Scholarships, which are reserved exclusively for qualified undergraduate students in the Jack C. Massey College of Business.

FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES Our graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to become successful business leaders. Students are encouraged to participate in internships and begin networking with employers before they graduate. We have a strong six-month placement rate that consistently exceeds 90 percent. Massey College of Business alumni accept offers with Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurial ventures, government organizations and non-profit institutions locally, nationally and internationally.

Comprehensive Business Exposure

Well known for its academic innovations, Belmont University has been named a Top School to Watch by U.S. News & World Report, a high honor that indicates the strength of Belmont’s reputation among universities nationwide. One example is the Massey Financial Information Center, the first financial lab at a Tennessee college or university. This special classroom, which includes an electronic stock ticker, data wall and access to equipment and software used in professional investment firms, gives students the opportunity to access and analyze financial information in a completely interactive environment. Students are responsible for managing over $700,000 in investment funds, and their performance had earned more than $5,400 in prize money from the Tennessee Valley Authority.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree at Belmont University provides students the opportunity to study a wide range of business subjects with concentrations in nine different areas:

Opportunities such as the financial information center, our studentrun businesses, business hatcheries, student organizations and internship opportunities facilitate the application of learning to realworld situations. Thus, Belmont’s Jack C. Study abroad experiences have short-term and long-term options, including a full academic year, semester, summer or Belmont’s Maymester. Maymester is a two to three week study abroad experience during the month of May where Belmont students can sometimes earn up to nine credit hours and take advantage of tuition discounts.
