FROM THE DEAN It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Spring 2020 performance season in the College of Music & Performing Arts at Belmont University. Our gifted students, faculty and guests artists are showcased through an exciting and inspiring offering of plays, productions, concerts, recitals and events this spring. Your attendance and support of our spring events allows us to build a rich creative culture of performance and learning that cultivates future young artists. Highlights of our spring performance include: • The Theatre Department will stage the Restoration comedy The Man of Mode, several well-known Robin Hood playlets and their Belmont Repertory Theater will present two performances for children. • The Curtain Call Award will be presented to Commercial Music alumni and Grammy winners Alvin Love (2007) and Dwan Hill (2008). • Jazz Piano Concert Series will feature hard bop pianist Benny Green. • Musical Theatre presents the romantic comedy Pajama Game. And in April, our annual President’s Concert will feature American Music of Peace and Freedom. This will be our first offering in CMPA to support the celebration and learning associated with the 2020 Presidential Debate Belmont will host next October. I personally invite you to review these offerings and to mark your calendar for any and all of our CMPA performances.

DR. STEPHEN EAVES Dean, College of Music & Performing Arts
