The Summer Business Institute (SBI) satisfies all prerequisite coursework needed for success in all Massey MBA programs: Professional MBA, Accelerated MBA and Healthcare MBA. SBI is the only AACSBaccredited program of its kind in Tennessee that combines a work-friendly, fast-track approach to preparing non-business undergraduate majors for Massey’s MBA programs.

SBI is completed over 12 weeks in the summer, and students attend classes two week nights per week and on Saturdays during the program. Students who complete the Summer Business Institute hit the ground running,

Students generally complete the PMBA program in two years, but can finish the program in as few as 15 months or as many as four years. Classes meet on weekday evenings from 6:15–9 p.m., generally two nights per week. A one-week international residency is also required. PMBA students can begin the program in the fall, spring or summer semester. In addition, elective subject matter includes accounting, business intelligence, entrepreneurship, finance, healthcare management,

An additional characteristic that distinguishes the Massey Graduate School of Business is the personal attention given to each student’s learning needs and professional goals. Enrollments are managed to assure small class sizes (average of 25 students in core classes and 14 in electives) so that students have significant opportunities to interact with each professor and their peers. All faculty are deeply committed to ensuring that the learning environment is effective for each individual.

ELIJAH HYDE PMBA Candidate

“I wanted an MBA program that was flexible with my work schedule, fully accredited and brick and mortar. I researched other programs in Nashville and found Massey’s PMBA program best for my needs. As a student, I’m constantly impressed with the quality of my professors. The vast majority have the industry experience that is vital for student development. Most importantly, our professors understand the demands of balancing a career with graduate school and personal life, and they work with us to ensure success. Belmont is a family, and I know that even after I finish the program, I can call upon them at any time.”

The program is full-time, competitive, high-commitment and puts emerging professionals on the fast track to success. AMBA students typically enter the program immediately after completing an undergraduate degree. The Accelerated MBA program begins in the fall semester with a cohort group of students who complete the program the following summer, for 12 months total. Students attend classes four nights per week from 6:15– 9 p.m. and complete a professional internship. A two week international residency is also required. “I was drawn to the fact that it’s a one year program, with flexibility in the classes you can take. I came from a large university, so joining a program with small class sizes has been a great change. The professors are extremely helpful. And my classmates are one of the best parts of the program. Instead of a highly competitive environment, we’re very collaborative. I recommend AMBA to any recent graduate who wants a challenging environment that includes the tools for success.”

HCMBA

H E A LT H C A R E M A S T E R O F B U S I N E S S A D M I N I S T R AT I O N The Healthcare Master of Business Administration (HCMBA) was created by healthcare professionals for healthcare professionals. HCMBA students are required to have a minimum of two years of significant healthcare work experience. The part-time, evening format is designed for working professionals and classes generally meet two evenings per week, over the course of two years. Students can be admitted year-round, and cohort groups begin studies in the fall semester. Massey’s HCMBA program also includes an eight to ten day international residency. The HCMBA curriculum is a balanced blend of MBA (e.g., corporate financial and managerial accounting, marketing management, strategic management) and healthcare management-specific courses (e.g., leading complex healthcare organizations, healthcare quality improvement and patient-centered care, healthcare informatics). The entire program focuses on the application of healthcare business best practices, including courses with hands-on learning projects with area healthcare companies. An additional characteristic that distinguishes the Massey Graduate School of Business is the personal attention given to each student’s learning needs and professional goals. Enrollments are managed to assure small class sizes (average of 25 students in core classes and 14 in electives) so that students have significant opportunities to interact with each professor and their peers. professions represented: from doctors and attorneys, to administrators and IT specialists. This diversity engages students in enlightening, sometimes challenging, conversations with a wide variety of industry perspectives. I have learned so much from my professors and classmates, and have made lifelong connections. I encourage anyone considering the HCMBA program to jump in with both feet. It is challenging but so rewarding, and I’ve already been able to take on higher level, strategic projects at work.”

“One of the things I most appreciate about Massey is the small class sizes. The intimate setting has allowed me to make meaningful connections with my classmates and professors. Massey also does a great job creating networking opportunities with area companies through Power Lunches and other events. And I love that everyone is required to go on an international trip. I went to Santiago and it was an amazing experience. I got to know my classmates in a unique environment and expanded my knowledge of international business.

ALUMNI TESTIMONIALS VIN PHAN Partner, Healthcare Transaction Advisory Services, BDO

“I really benefitted from the quality of the professors, especially because they all had industry experience, in addition to academic pedigrees. And, they took an interest in me both professionally and personally. They really get to know students and genuinely want them to succeed. The small class sizes were also great. You get to build really strong, lasting relationships with everyone. Massey’s MAcc program really prepared me for the CPA exams and the professional world. And as Massey continues to grow, I’m happy that my network continues to expand.”

J E N N I F E R PA G L I A R A Executive Vice President and Financial Advisor, CapWealth

“My career really started to move forward after I got my MBA. Before that, I worked mostly behind the scenes, gaining valuable experience in the operations side of the firm. But when I got my MBA, I know that the leaders of my firm had more confidence in me, and I was moved up to the client-facing side of the firm, which is where I always wanted to be. The school has grown so much over the years, and it’s amazing to be part of this flourishing community, and Massey alumni are very involved in Nashville. I can proudly say I’m a Massey alum at almost any community event and I will meet fellow alums. The people—classmates, faculty and alums really make the program incredible.”

E R I N N E D R O W, C N A Vice President of Business Development, Clearview Healthcare Management

“Earning a master’s degree has been a life-long goal. I sought a campus experience where I could make friends, network with peers and interact with professors who have experience in my field. I found all of those things at Belmont. My experience far exceeded my expectations. The administration and professors were fantastic, and I forged amazing friendships with classmates through shared experiences. I am proud to have earned my MBA from Belmont University.”

E D G LY N N , M . D . Chief Health Information Officer, HCA Healthcare Physician Services

“An MBA is a crucial tool for any executive in today’s healthcare industry. Belmont’s dedication to a dynamic class experience, a concentrated focus in healthcare and utilization of its wealth of connections in the Nashville healthcare industry made The Massey School of Business an easy first choice decision for me.”

HARRY ALLEN Co-founder & Chief Relationship Officer, Studio Bank

“For me, I knew that I needed an MBA program that had a flexible schedule while I worked full-time. I also wanted high quality instruction from professors who brought real-world experiences to the classroom. Not only did I find this in Massey’s Professional MBA program, but I also learned from my peers who brought their unique experiences to every class. Even today, years after completing the program, I frequently reach out to my fellow alumni to share ideas and gain insight. A few of them have even joined me as investors in my company. The learning was great, and I apply what I learned every day. But my ongoing relationships with professors and alumni are what I value most. I’m so glad that I earned a Massey MBA!”

KENDALL SOWELL Account Development, MuleSoft “Even though I recently graduated, I can already see the worth of the Accelerated MBA experience. From the individualized attention and commitment shown by each of our professors, to the meticulous arrangement of curricula, this accelerated program set us up for success from day one. It also allowed me to have hands-on learning interactions in cross-cultural, dynamic environments. Further, the program always challenged me to bring critical and insightful discussions to the classroom. Now as an alum, I’ve seen my ability to apply these learnings in both my professional and personal life because of the attentiveness the Accelerated MBA taught me. As a young graduate, I’ve jump-started my career on a path of excellence and success.”
