PROMO INTRODUCTION

Great ideas have a habit of striking at the most unexpected times. Rewind to the late 1980s, and you wouldn’t think hanging on to an oval brolly in Gran Canaria in hurricane winds would be the place for a moment of engineering insight. But inbetween lashing my bedchair to the centre boss to stop me being blown away I noticed the shape and spread of an old tree standing in the rocky landscape. Despite winds threatening to smash my tackle, the tree just didn’t budge. An absolutely rock solid structure from Mother Nature herself. There in an instant the concept of the Titan was born. The first carp shelter with a rigid, rather than flexible frame.

The carp world may have conveniently forgotten over the last 25 years that the oval umbrella was a Nash innovation but I wasn’t going to make the same mistake with something as radical as the Titan. The design was patented and one of our most famous products took shape. I remember vividly that the design and moulding cost of the original Titan centre boss was a significant investment for Nash at the time, a gamble some said. Yet the concept was so revolutionary that even in uncertain times I took a risk and in the following years the Titan was to become the most iconic bivvy ever made, recognised instantly the world over. Documented as having saved lives the Titan has always stood firm no matter the conditions around it, I often think much like Nash Tackle itself. We remain at the forefront of carp tackle development because the products we design are so strong - literally and metaphorically. Only today over two decades further on has the original Titan design been bettered in direct response to the changing demands of the modern carper. Lighter frames, shorter packdown, improved internal space and of course updated materials, along with market leading features such as removable inner mesh capsules and fast erect systems. With our vast product portfolio progress is everywhere, from

Scope to Indulgence bedchairs and the launch of the KNX brand. KNX brings so many design features developed by Nash to everybody. When carp fever hits and catching suddenly becomes serious, KNX is the brand that puts the tools you need in your hand to step up a league. Nashbait is becoming a growing force to be reckoned with, and it has to be admitted that we have struggled to meet demand for winning baits like The Key® and Key Stabilised. Recognising this Nashbait have invested in an entirely new cutting edge bait production facility to meet our customers’ demands in the future. From high speed boilie rolling, computer monitored production and boiling to controlled atmospheres to embrace innovative developments like our Cultured® Hookbaits, Gary Bayes and the Nashbait team have shaped the future of carp bait manufacturing. The introduction of the Citruz Cultured® Hookbaits and the high-viz fizz of the Citruz Cultured® Fizzing Stick Mix underline our continued commitment to bait innovation. The journey to a new year’s product launch is always eventful, and this year has been no exception and I believe will prove to be a symbolic year for Nash and has left me more excited than ever about where Nash innovation takes us. Huge investment now and in the future ensure we remain at the forefront of the worldwide carp industry.
