Why brazil?

More than Football The Brazil goes far beyond football, carnival and women, we are a country full of natural beauties like beaches, waterfalls, animals and a variety of fruits. In addition we have the most welcoming, happy and sociable people you can imagine.

We are a mix of races The Brazilian population consists mainly of descendants of indigenous peoples, Portuguese settlers, African slaves and dierent groups of immigrants as Italian, German, Spanish, Syrian-Lebanese Japanese, Polish, Dutch and Ukrainians. For this reason the Brazil has a rich diversity of cultures.


Why Brazil?

Places and Climate The Brazil is composed of 26 states and the federal district, each of them has fantastic places, a distinct population and a remarkable cuisine. The climate is tropical and always seems to live in the summer. Any time of the year is perfect to go to the beach. Low temperatures are located in southern Brazil, creating landscapes that resemble europe.

Food

The regional foods are very diversified from state to state, exactly for its large size and its colonization, which gives a huge variety of ingredients and flavors. Some typical foods are rice and beans, barbecue, feijoada, aรงai and brigadeiro (a delicious sweet).

Why Brasília?

We are the capital of Brazil Brasília is the capital of Brazil and the seat of the government. The city was planned in 1956 in order to move the capital from Rio de Janeiro to a more central and safe location. Brasília has a shape of a airplane and is known for the striking architecture. Brasília is considered by UNESCO a world heritage and it has the largest urban park of the world.


Why Brasília?

We are multicultural Brasília is the most multicultural city in Brazil. People from all over Brazil came to Brasília during its construction and so here you can find a variety in your culinary, culture and people.

Climate

Brasília weather is warm most of the year, we have a hot and rainy summer and a cold and dry winter. We don’t have beach but we have the lake and the most beautiful sky in the world. We used to say that “The sky is the sea of Brasília”.

Brasília has a high cost of living compared to other cities in Brazil, however, also has a high quality of life. The cost of living can vary depending on the location in Brasilia, for example, in nearby cities the cost of living is more affordable.

Why Brasília? Places Brasília has incredible places. One of them is the Lake Paranoá, which allows lots of welcoming places and full of fun, as the Deck Norte, Pontão do Lago Sul, Er mida D om Bosco (where happens the most amazing sunset) and JK Bridge. At Explanada dos Ministérios (esplanade of the ministries) there are several tourist attractions such as the JK Memorial, National L i b ra r y, N a t i o n a l M u s e u m , Cathedral, Alvorada Palace, National Congress, the Praça dos Três Poderes, National Theatre, National Stadium, TV Tower, Itamaraty Palace and others. Apart from these places, there are also the Zoo, the LBV Temple, the City Park, the Botanical Garden, the University of Brasilia (UnB), Alvorada Palace, the Santuário Dom Bosco and several shopping malls.


Why Brasília? Entertainment There are several forms of e n t e r t a i n m e n t i n B ra s í l i a , preferred by the population is to enjoy the parks, the lake and the city's public spaces. Brasilienses loves to dance and meet friends in bars to talk and eat. Near Brasilia there are beautiful waterfalls, historic towns and incredible landscapes. About AIESEC in BrasĂ­lia AIESEC Brasilia was founded in 1998 by students of the University of Brasilia, a federal public university, one of the most important higher education institution in Brazil. AIESEC Brasilia is not linked to a university only, it represents all the universities of Brasilia. The 2015 team is formed by the Executive Board Calliandra whose mission is Make It Worth It. Through excellence, leadership stories and experiences we seek to be among the TOP 10 in the world.

The third sector has historically faced many diďŹƒculties related to their management, so that its real impact remains far short from its potential, given the role that the third sector is proposed to be in Brazilian society. Because of this lack of preparation or professionalism of its managers, the third sector lacks in attracting resources (human, financial, physical) in the marketing and positioning of its purpose and activities, and lean and focused on structuring its processes and basic activities. Mozaiko Project, which is part of the Global Citizen Third Sector Portfolio, seeks to bring exchange students to act directly in the identification of bottlenecks in the management of nonprofit organizations and their mapping key processes acting directly evident that the common need several third sector entities through the provision of consulting services.

Mozaiko Project in BrasĂ­lia 8 weeks 1st week: Preparation Days 2nd to 8th weeks: Work at NGO Monday to thursday from 10 am to 4 pm

Starting Dates June 10th or July 10th To develop this Project every NGO will work with 8 Trainees divided into the four areas of the project.


Job Descriptions The intern will be responsible to help the NGO with the marketing, accounting, administration and infrastructure. Resources and Infrastructure - Here will be developed a complete view about the resource of the NGO, like humans resource as employees and volunteers, also external resource, as partnership. After an complete review of those structure, the trainee will have the opportunities to plan and improve those active inside the organization. Marketing - The trainee will have the opportunity to make a complete marketing job inside the NGO. The marketing work can be:

• Construction of visual identity and other design jobs; • Creation and management of websites and social media; • Do plans of marketing (Communication with sponsors and

partners, reports) • Planning fundraising events; • Promotion of the service and events of the NGO; • Think about ideias for campaigns and activities that aim to provide more financial resources; • Make institutional videos and photos for the NGO.


In partnership with IPEAS Brazil (Institute for Research and Studies Applied to the Society) the Mozaiko project will have the following structure: STRUCTURE Stage 01 – Develop the Project and starts the implementation Stage 02 – Implementation and Capacitation Stage 03 – Improve the NGO capacity Week 1: Reception week - Coaching with AIESEC; Week 2: Study the NGO and collect specific informations; Week 3: Analysis and project creation; Weeks 4/7: implementation and capacitation of the NGO; Week 8: Project closing and evaluation. *To understand the organizations gaps and needs the intern might to study the NGO’s reality and its market. The intern might cooperate with events and bring the culture of your country to AIESEC Brasília Local Comitee. Also the intern will work in AIESEC events (Global Village and others).

warningS • Host Family: The families of Brasília are talkative, receptive and friendly. Here in Brazil, we used to clear what we have soiled and wash our dishes. Remember to always tell the families if you will arrive late at home or will sleep outside.

• First Day: On the first day of work, we will teach you how to arrive at work.

Travels: Traveling to other locations in Brazil will only be allowed on condition that you do not miss a workday. We advise you to travel to places far before or after the project and to places near during the weekend.

• LEAD (Learning, Engaging, Achieving, Diversifying): LEAD

are weekly meetings which aims to empower and train with competencies necessary to perform your functions in alignment with the organizational objectives. The LEAD seek to strengthen the impact of your experience in AIESEC and develop leadership.
