Recommendations for Next Year: • Warchant was kept in the Civic Center. After being hosted at Langford Green, Doak Campbell Stadium, and now the Civic Center, it’s clear that Warchant is best suited for this venue. The facility provides protection from the unpredictable weather and is well suited for large concerts when it comes to staffing, equipment, concessions, etc. • Collaborative Events – In 2013, Torch Pursuit proved to be a big success as it fed into Seminole Festival. This year in 2014, we introduced a Homecoming themed Market Wednesday which fed into Seminole festival which boosted student engagement at both events. • In order to increase diversity of student involvement for Homecoming 2014, Diversity Points were included in the Homecoming packet. Student groups received points toward their overall Homecoming scores for pairing with different organizations (i.e. A Panhellenic sorority, an NPHC fraternity, an MGC sorority, and an RSO pairing together). Diversity points were very successful in including a diverse student body in various Homecoming events. Conclusion Florida State University Homecoming is a weeklong event of activities and programs concluding with a home football game. Several departments across campus participate in the planning, executing and hosting of Homecoming events. The Student Activities Center works directly with the student Homecoming Committee in collaboration with the Student Government Association and the Florida State Alumni Association. We look forward to working with the university community to continue to improve upon Homecoming by engaging more students, staff and alumni.
