For more information about the Oglesby Union please visit: http://union.fsu.edu/ THE POSITION The Graduate Assistant for Programming and Dance Marathon will serve as an advisor to students of Dance Marathon. Dance Marathon (DM) is the largest student-ran philanthropy at Florida State University and raises over $1 million dollars a year. DM produces many events and programs through the development of a student executive board and a large student leadership team. This position is a key part of the Student Activities Center team and is also responsible for general student activities duties as assigned. The qualified candidate will enjoy working with a wide variety of students and student programs. Applicants should be outgoing, positive, articulate, and flexible. Advising and organizational skills will be keys to success. Knowledge of leadership theories and skills preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead major Student Activities programs and events • Direct one on one advising with student leaders • Budget management • Event planning and day of show of execution • Student leadership development and retreat planning • Program development and assessment QUALIFICATIONS • Admitted in an FSU Graduate Program (Preferably Master’s in Higher Education Administration) • Ability to relate well to others, especially students and student groups • Experience in program and event planning, team building, budget and risk management • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing • Ability to receive and follow instructions and feedback related to assigned programs and activities • Available for 20 hours per week including office hours during business hours and programs on nights and weekends For more information regarding this position, please contact Dorsey Spencer, Associate Director, Student Activities Center, Oglesby Union at dspencer2@fsu.edu or 850.644.6454.
