FIRST YEAR Basic Design I

The first-year curriculum is designed to accommodate a variety of study paths. Students interested in focusing on a traditional discipline, examining creative and academic fields in combination, or exploring approaches to art and design can tailor their studies to meet their needs.

Basic Design II

At the begining of the semester we have learned basic design concepts of form, pattern, color, composition, texture, and shade, as well as the principles of two and three dimensional design without emphasizing function as a determinant. Problem solving skills in design are developed. Theories of design are also introduced.

On the following semester we have explores the concepts introduced in FA 101. More emphasis is given to problems in three dimensional design. Function is introduced. Theories of design are further discussed.

FIRST YEAR

LEARNING COLOURS

Using only three primary colours to achive the secondary colours and tertiary colours. To achive these colurs primary colurs should mix.

2-DIMENSIONAL ORGANISATION Patern organisation by using geometr覺c shapes.Proximity of elements ,geometric relation of elements and rhythm.

DESIGN PRINCIPLES -Abstract覺on -Figure -Ground Relationship -Loss of Identity -Grouping -Similarity -Proximity -Design Field

TOP VIEW OF BARCELONA

3D ABSTRACTION DESIGN On second semester on design studio we were responsible to make 3d basic design organisations.I have used Barcelona city plan as a patern for project.I have made solid void relationship between city plan and design elements.

2-D ORGANISATION

2-d Organisation by geometrical shapes. It is a off center organisation.I have used monocromatic and primary colours.

2-D GEOMETRICAL SHAPES

Monocromatic colours emphasize primary colours on center. Square and triange makes hole organisation.Axial made by square elements.

STUDY TABLE FOR STUDENTS

It is multi-purpose study table. Student can study , cycle or lie down. There are also storage spaces which is accessable.

SOLID VOID RELATIONSHIP

By using square and rectangular elements 覺 have define solid and void spaces.Colours represent transiton between spaces.

SECOND YEAR Interior Design Studio I

Three dimensional problem solving techniques are used to relate the elements and principles which shape interior space to the functional and aesthetic factors which affect individual space requirements. Students work on projects to develop a strong understanding of the fundamentals of spatial design. Basic elements of design are articulated through individual and group projects. Notions of the human body, structural elements, movement and functional programming are combined to create design solutions as well as identity and character in space

Interior Design Studio II

Basic concepts and design methods for residential interiors and structures. Individual and group needs in relation to personal, family and institutional living.

Lighting Design

Introduces principles of lighting and different lighting techniques. Initiates colour and lighting design utilizing both natural and artificial light sources.

SECOND YEAR

BOATH HOUSE

ROWING CLUB On second year design course we were responsible to design space for rowing sport club.I have abstrack wind and water and represented in my spaces.I have used organ覺c materials which can be provided from the site. There are cleaning rooms ,storage for boats. There are also offices for coaches.

HOME OFFICE

CHOCOLATE MAKER We have designed existing building which is Bilkent University Rector House for this project.I have designed this place for Chocolate maker. There is a Attelier for production and easy to work from house.

There is common spaces for custumer to achive home office environment.Brutalist aproach on design.Designed for five person to live.

PHOTO NAME

MOGAN LAKE SHELTER

It is a shelter for a rowing club where they can protect from sun or rainy days. The slope of the wings are designed in terms of angle of the sun.The technologhy that I used for this project is membrane tensioning systems so that It can be removed in winter time.Inspration from Mogan lake which is located in Ankara.

ATTRACTIVE LOBBY LIGHTING

HOTEL LOBBY LIGHTING DESIGN It is designed to attract people who have visited. The chosen colurs , wall washers and diffrent levels of suspended ceilings achived this feeling. We have also designed and calculated illumination rate of the spaces.

THIRD YEAR Interior Design Studio III Special consideration is given to public interiors and hospitality design. Course objectives include developing an understanding of spatial design for humane working and living environments, inclusive design, interior detailing and documentation, and building systems and components. Interior Design Studio IV Special consideration is given to public interiors and healthcare design. Course objectives include developing an understanding of healthcare issues, service, accommodation and care facilities, cultural relationships, handicapped requirements, building safety and spatial comfort.

Architectural Acoustics and Fire Safety Acoustics, noise control and fire prevention in buildings Product Detailing Detailing problems of products such as the detailing of furniture, cabinetry, upholstery, fixtures, etc. Problems related to the nature of materials and production methods. Sustainable Design for Interiors Creation of a basic understanding of issues related to sustainable design with an emphasis on thermal comfort and indoor air quality. Issues related to mechanical and electrical equipment and services in buildings will also be covered.

THIRD YEAR

SOLAR POWER

SUSTAINABLE MATERIAL

GATHERING WATER

Solar power panels Generate 100% electricity for building. The batteries which is located in the basement of the building store the electric and uses when it needed.

Using local materials was concerned while desiging this building. To minimize construction waste recycled materials used.

The slop of the roof gathers the water in to 1000 liter tanks. After filtering the water from the tanks it can be drinkable.

FISH BONE THE FUTURE IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE Under the overarching title The Future is Not What it Used to Be, the 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial asks, “What is the future now?” The Biennial invites designers to rethink the manifesto, harnessing this powerful and fertile genre as a platform for reconsidering where we have come from, where we are, and where we are going. Our manifesto was using nature for our future. So that we have abstract fish bone from nature ,We have designed Pinboard Poster holder for Second Istanbul Desıgn Biennial.

FOURTH YEAR

Interior Design Studio V This course aims to develop proficiency of the students in designing and presenting refined interior architecture projects for complex and large spaces in relation to more confined subspaces and objects. Many aspects of interior design are covered such as achieving integrity with regards to interior and exterior organizations and design components, understanding and integrating building systems, and considering social, cultural, regulatory and environmental issues in design. Advance Detailing Studio Systems research for the interior environment: furniture technology and materials. Students will be required to complete a project at the working drawing level.

FOURTH YEAR

PLANS AND SECTIONS

BUILDING ANALYSIS The building consist of two enterence and only one side was suitable for the costumers confort. The second reason for the entrence is shape of the building.By using vertical entrence i have done good perspective view of the bulding from the enterrance. Huge panels of windows makes me to represent interior space to outside.Huge punto letters was initial idea of this approach. Mezzanine floor plan designed in terms of shape of the building.

ABSTRACTION FROM NATURE We have seen many geometric shapes and forms in daily life however mostly we do not notice.I have abstract human and nature and use solid void geometrical forms on my design.

SOLID AND VOID RELATIONS All the spaces designed to achive solid void relations in vertically and horizantaly. To achive that approach main spaces devided by sub spaces and it continuous on ceilling.

BRUCLINIC

CLINIC DESIGN PROJECT

To Design clinic all the scheme of the topic should known by the designer and 覺n order to that working circulation design in terms of that sense. The location of the nurse station. The hierachi between doctors and other staff etc.
