STRATEGIC IMPROVEMENT
It’s a transformative time for the energy industry. The retirement of many traditional baseload generation plants and the emergence of new forms of generation like solar and wind, alongside inflation, supply chain issues, and even pressures from global instability have radically changed energy markets, driving up costs and threatening reliability.
At the same time, new technology and innovative business practices allow distribution utilities to adapt to the changing landscape and find creative ways to provide affordable and dependable service in the face of these challenges.

To adapt to the times, South Central Power Company’s trustees and senior leaders recently updated the organization’s strategy plan, from our Mission, Vision, and Values to a strategy map that details what drives us as an organization and our areas of major focus as we continue to serve you. At the center of our strategy map is you, our members. That’s because as a cooperative, we exist only to serve you, and the communities we all call home.
We have multiple initiatives underway designed to improve how we serve you, and to help us stay on track, we’ve broken them into four key areas: culture, finance, technology, and business process. By focusing on these drivers of our business, emphasizing sound financial and business practices, and committing to continuous improvement in everything we do, we are confident we can be the best utility for these challenging times. None of this is possible, of course, without our workforce. That’s why we also focus on our culture of safety, and work to develop industry leaders who can deliver what you expect from us — dependable service at an affordable cost.
