A small-town atmosphere complements the friendly environment found on campus. Population: 5,582
Ohio Northern is a private, comprehensive University, comprising five colleges (Arts & Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering, Law, and Pharmacy) that blend liberal and professional education. Talented, motivated students engage in abundant activities in and out of the classroom and graduate with an education that provides one of the highest returns on investment in the nation. Calendar
ONU moves from quarters to semesters in fall 2011. The College of Law runs on semesters.
Athletics
NCAA Division III, Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Eleven men’s and ten women’s teams. ONU has won the men’s and women’s OAC All-Sports Trophies for four consecutive years, and the men have won for five consecutive years. The mascot is the polar bear and the school colors are orange and black.
Student Life
Students choose from a variety of campus activities, including nearly 200 student organizations; four national sororities and six national fraternities; intercollegiate, intramural and club sports; and music and theatrical events.
Location
Our scenic, safe and modern campus rests on nearly 342 acres in the village of Ada, Ohio. Our location provides a small-town atmosphere, yet some of the finest restaurants, shopping and culture the Midwest has to offer are just a short drive away.
ONU Green
ONU is firmly committed to sustainability and environmental awareness on campus. Our on-campus housing derives 30 percent of its heating and cooling from geothermal technology, and three new 400-kilowatt wind turbines are expected to provide between 5 and 10 percent of our
electricity needs. Our fleet of hybrid and electric campus vehicles reduces our dependence on fossil fuels, and our many environmentally themed student organizations always find new ways to make ONU a greener place to live, learn and work.
The Inn at Ohio Northern University
Ada’s world-class hotel offers more than 70 deluxe guest rooms, luxurious amenities and more than 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting spaces. Guests of The Inn enjoy everything that the ONU campus has to offer: athletics, fine art, theatre performances and so much more.
