Ocean Devotion Surf through summer in very high style with AS29’s diamond and 18K gold “Ocean” Ear Cuff. “The ocean cuff is inspired by one of my travels last year and the movement of the ocean where we were staying. I wanted to recreate those amazing waves we saw and translate them in a piece of jewellery.” ~ Audrey Savransky

With its anatomically hugging, mythical lines, this jewel easily goes from day-to-night, from bikini and beach to cocktails and café society. The talismanic iconicity of this AS29 jewel makes it a natural style choice for those who are not afraid to stand out from the crowd. Favoured by the likes of Rachel Zoe, Sienna Miller and Alexa Chung, AS29’s architectural lines and iconic themes made it an instant hit with celebrities when it debuted. AS29 represents the initials and lucky number of Belgian designer, Audrey Savransky, who hails from a fourth generation diamond family from Antwerp. For the anti-girly woman who craves everyday statement jewellery, AS29 jewels radiate power, confidence and individuality and are set apart by their instantly recognisable motifs and liberal use of diamond micropavé. Snake Chamer

Bulgari pays tribute to an ancient symbol in contemporary Italian fashion

A

n emblematic symbol, and one that has become synonymously associated with the Italian brand, the Serpenti has proven itself time and again to be Bulgari’s most iconic jewel. For its 130th anniversary, the luxury house pays tribute to the excellence of its Roman ateliers through the world of Serpenti; an Eternal City, symbolising eternal renewal, just like the snake and the infinite reinterpretations of the Serpenti universe. Presenting a new and distinctive jewellery collection, Bulgari merges together two of its most iconic symbols of design: the contemporary soul of the tubogas and the power of the snake. The tubogas, a style born out of high technology, echoes the elaborate finery of Art Deco with its geometrical design and modernist lines. It brings together a nonconventional take on modern day creativity, and pays ode to the early snake shaped bracelet-watches of the brand. The new collection, which features two wrap-around bracelets and two rings, plays on the sinuosity suggested by the snake. It comes in soft feminine pink gold, which beautifully offsets the precious pave diamonds insertions on the head and on the tail of the snake. Beautiful pieces, the line exudes an elegance and sensuality associated with the modern-day woman of our time; a beautiful talisman for one of the most iconic signs of Bulgari. www.ohlala-magazine.com

STYLE What Do You Wear Most Often? I am usually in a black or grey suit, with white underneath or just a black dress at work. I don’t like flashy colours. Pencil-cut skirts, a black dress or a black suit, with black leather pumps is comfortable and sophisticated. In my spare time, I usually go out in jeans paired with blue or white long sleeves. My wardrobe consists of three to four colours maximum, which includes white, black, grey and blue. What’s Your Favourite Look Whilst On Holiday? Holiday is always fun and I always love to be comfortable and on the go. A jumpsuit, or a versatile summer dress is perfect for taking from day-to-night, such as hanging by the pool to a girls’ night out. It’s great for last minute changes to plans as well. What Are Your Essential Must-Buys This Season? Black and white have always been my favourite shades – and you can’t go wrong with mango’s springsummer collection. A one-piece black suit, white suit blazer and a beautiful white shirt, which can go with a skirt, black suit or even jeans.

MISS OHLALA! Escapades of a single 20-something girl... The date that wasn’t

Okay I must admit I have been on many disastrous dates in my time. Like the guy who brought a date on our date, or the one that fell asleep. I honestly thought I had experienced it all, until I met HIM, who raised the bar for the terms “epic fail” forever. We met at happy hour on a casual Friday afternoon. My judgment was highly impaired as I had just come up from brunch, but I could have sworn he was charming and a real gentleman. So later when he took my number from a common friend and called me up for a breakfast date, I said yes! I woke up early to wash my hair and look pretty and fresh when he picked me up at 10am as planned on a Saturday morning. He sent me a text at about 9:45am apologising for he had just woken up and hence would be a little late. A little late became a lot longer when he couldn’t find my apartment and was lost for another half hour. Finally around noon, he picked me up. Flinging my hair and ready to start off our date I opened the door to sit in the passenger seat, to hear him scream, “No! You can’t sit there. Please sit at the back as the seat is soaking wet!” I did as I was told and sat at the back and was chauffeured around by my date. The only thing he said to me during the awkward drive was what an unexpected rough night he had yesterday and how sick he was feeling. Prince charming… We decided to have lunch since we missed breakfast anyway, it must have been 1pm by then. To my horror as we walked to the restaurant one of his shoes fell apart, he apologised and explained that he had to take them out of the garbage as the rest of his stuff was in boxes (excellent so he’s also 30

OHLALA!

homeless?!) “Awkward” silence would be an understatement as we sat there waiting for our hops and pizza. I finally started to enjoy myself and was chatting with him while he stared at me in silence. And then he finally spoke, “do you have a couch?” emmm “yeah?” I said afraid of what was coming next. He then signaled for the waiter to come and asked for our food in doggy bags (mind you I was in mid bite). Apparently he had decided that he wanted to spend the day laying on my couch watching movies. We stood outside the restaurant and I told him to please go home (that’s if he has one), and walked away through the passage way to the mall where I was safe from him and burst into hysterical laughter for a good 20 minutes. Needless to say he never called me again, and I am yet to bump into him again. Epic fail? I say almost as humiliating as Germany defeating Brazil in the world cup semi-finales. Ta ta, till next time. THE CAUSE

HOPE OF A NEW DAWN What spurred the establishment of New Dawn Society was simple – a genuine desire to help and make a difference in the local community. Ohlala! chats with founder and president, Nazli Tawfeeqi, on what the charity aims to achieve for the less fortunate.

O

fficially founded in July 2006 after starting their charitable activities two years prior, New Dawn Society began with a group of friends in their twenties and thirties who wanted to do something to give back to the community. Of their beginnings, Nazli tells us: “Most charitable ladies societies were managed by an older generation, whilst we had new and unique ideas to implement, which clashed with their classic style. We felt compelled to help the needy and we had many ideas on how to improve the way fundraising activities took place. We wanted young Bahraini ladies to be more involved and we tried to plan our events in a fun way in order to attract them.” With a marketing and management background, Nazli founded the Society when she was in her senior year. It was at this stage she says, that she became inspired to plan events and offer help to those in need. Working with a dedicated team, Nazli as founder and president, makes sure that things are moving in the right direction. “We’re here to create a positive influence to all community members. We help out in different ways; a link between those who want to help and those who need it. We want to reflect a positive image of Muslims, Arabs and Bahrainis in particular.” In all their activities, the Society makes sure to donate the proceeds to an organisation in need – working with various institutions twice a year. “It gives us the opportunity to help different people. This is why we don’t support a specific cause. We

32

OHLALA!

want to keep growing and expanding by supporting as many people as we can,” Nazli adds. Even as a relatively new charity, the group have had quite a number of remarkable milestones. They donated breathing machines to the children’s cancer ward in Salmaniya Hospital and, in cooperation with the Rita & Charles Field-Marsham Foundation, they helped towards building libraries in schools and community centres in Kenya. They also participated in the 2011 National Dialogue. “It was a huge thing for us to share our opinions with representatives from all over Bahrain,” beams Nazli. New Dawn Society relies heavily on spreading their message through social media. They also seek support from companies for sponsorship for their major events. Majid Al Futtaim, the management behind Bahrain City Centre, partnered with them for the recent ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ initiative, which was aimed at collecting essential items such as clothing, non-perishable food items, books and eyeglasses, then donating them to underprivileged families in the community. As 2014 is themed around sports and physical activities, the Society will be conducting sports classes for their members in addition to a major Sports Day planned for the public by the end of the year.

“We want to keep growing and expanding by supporting as many people as we can.”

Ladies can join New Dawn Society and become members. Email: newdawnbahrain@gmail.com.Volunteers are welcome too.

Art & culture

Salsa

Caliente ! This Latin dance not only helps you stay in shape – it also provides you an opportunity to immerse in a cultural experience. Let the sensuous rhythms of Salsa ignite your passion for this beautiful art, as we shine a spotlight on some of the dancers headlining the Bahrain Salsa Festival 2014 happening this month.

T

he history of the salsa dance stretches back almost a century to the island nation of Cuba. It is not however, solely a Cuban dance. Salsa represents a combination of African and Caribbean dances. It first emerged in the 1920s in the United States, but didn’t gain success until the early 1930s. Salsa combines various influences from different corners of the world and that is probably the reason why it attracts so many people. Today it is a worldwide phenomenon thrilling both club dancers and professional competitors. Salsa is predominantly a partner dance although this is not always the case. It can also be a line dance known as the salsa suelta where every person dances individually in a larger group with a cluster of males facing females. Another form is the salsa rueda de casino where multiple couples dance in circles and swap partners. Salsa is often improvised giving you complete freedom to devise your own moves, but you can certainly set up a routine. For Bahrain Salsa 2014, the Salsa de Bahrain group is bringing to the island no less than forty acclaimed international and regional artists. Here, we feature three of the talents that are bringing all the fun and excitement to this one-of-a-kind event.

Osbanis Tejeda & Anneta Kepka

London based internationally renowned artists, teachers, choreographers and performers Osbanis Tejeda (from Cuba) and Anneta Kepka (from Poland), share between them World and UK Champion titles. Osbanis and Anneta’s fresh and unique dance style perfectly characterises the fusion of Cuban dance. With Osbanis’ rich knowledge and background, as well as being a

well-respected Cuban musician, the duo’s focus is on the importance of musical interpretation, in addition to incorporating Rumba and Afro-Cuban movement to their routines. They both teach and perform all around the world – in five continents and over 30 countries, as well as at their ever-popular regular classes in London. Guaranteed to deliver flawless performances that are full of excitement and enthusiasm for both the music and the dance, this tandem is certainly not to be missed!

Elena Marina

An international teacher and dancer of Kizomba, Zouk and Lambazouk, Elena is Spanish, born in Pontevedra (Galicia) and started dancing since she was four years old with the Galician Traditional Folk Dance participating in various events and TV programs as ‘Young People’ of TVE (Spain National TV) and ‘Aturuxo’ of TVGA (Galicia TV). In 2010 she fell in love with Kizomba and Zouk. Zouk eventually led her to learn to Semba and Lambazouk from Brazil and subsequently Kizomba, with rhythms that fuse Portuguese, African and Caribbean roots. Her love for dance has saw Elena participate in International Congress competitions such as the Berlin International Zouk Congress, International Zouk Roma Congress, Dutch Zouk International Congress, Oslo Zouk Festival, V Ensalsa, Festinlat, Seventh International Congress of Lambada/Zouk DansaBrasil in Barcelona, International London Dance Congress, First Paris International Samba and Zouk Meeting and many more over the last three years alone.

The BMW 650i Gran Coupe Before we picked up the 650i Gran Coupe, we questioned whether there was much purpose in making a ‘four-door’ coupe, and whether this model is really just a revamped 5 Series. By the time we dropped it back, our questions were well and truly answered…

62

OHLALA!

B

MW are very much into their four-door coupes at the moment, making this, the four-door version of the 6 Series, and also the 4 Series Gran Coupe. Are these models really just slightly altered versions of their saloons, the 5 Series and 3 Series, or does the 650i Gran Coupe really deserve its own unique place in the BMW range? The main selling point of the Gran Coupe is performance. The 650i uses BMW’s N63 twin-turbo V8, www.ohlala-magazine.com

DIVA drives diva DRIVES which has been tuned to produce 445hp and a monstrous 650Nm of torque, which is 45hp and 40Nm more than the 550i. However, the surprising thing is that it’s also almost 70kg heavier than the 5 Series, which means that 0-60mph times on both cars stand the same, at 4.5 seconds, although the 550i is electronically limited to a top speed of 130mph, compared to the 650i GC’s 155. I can’t help but feel that the only reason BMW have done this is to justify the Gran Coupe’s sportier credentials. Having said that, the 650i Gran Coupe is mind-bendingly fast. The 0-60mph time is no slouch, but it’s the continuous delivery of power right the way up to breakneck speeds that is most impressive. All this power is barely contained by BMW’s ESP system, and you can feel it struggling to rein it in every time you set off with any kind of enthusiasm, when power to the back wheels is checked. However, once the car feels like it has itself firmly planted, the surge of acceleration is absolutely breathtaking. However, the biggest seller for us was the styling of the Gran Coupe. The 6 Series Gran Coupe might only have a slightly lower profile than the 5 Series, 2.8 inches, to be exact, but the visual difference is huge. The Gran Coupe is also longer than the 5 Series by four inches, and wider by 1.3 inches.

The main selling point of the Gran Coupe is performance.

The lower, sleeker lines, and the wider, more aggressive stance make the Gran Coupe a truly beautiful car. It looks leaner, meaner and, most importantly, much faster than the more reserved 5 Series. The stylish interior complements the exterior marvellously, with padded leather surfaces and wood and chrome detailing really maintaining that premium feel. It’s cosy, comfortable, and you really get that sports coupe feel, especially in the driver’s seat, where everything seems to wrap around you and all the controls are right at your fingertips. There is room for four passengers, although rear legroom and headroom is somewhat limited. However, BMW tout the Gran Coupe as a 4+1 seating configuration, which infers that there is a usable middle seat in the back. And though there is a seatbelt there, the only adult you’d get on www.ohlala-magazine.com

that seat might be hitchhiking their way to Mordor! Then we come to the one thing about the Gran Coupe that will really make people question a purchase, and that is the price. It’s expensive; far more expensive than the roomier 5-Series upon whose chassis the Gran Coupe is based. For example, the BMW 550 is priced at around BD35,000, but this version of the BMW 650i rings up at BD45,000, a whopping ten grand price difference! Will people pay this premium? I think so, both for aesthetic reasons and the added performance. The 650i Gran Coupe isn’t just a sleeker 5 Series, it’s a whole different car. And again, it’s just beautiful!

“This drop-dead gorgeous supercar is the new V10 to replace the outgoing Gallardo.”

Petrolhead Pretty Our resident Diva Driver, Lisa Speed, was wondering what to talk about this month, until three pieces of news came in that had her literally in a spin…

Y

ep, it was a quiet month in the world of automotive exotica, as all the showrooms seemed to be focused primarily on offering the public rock-bottom prices on Ramadan specials (Yawn!). Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a great deal, but as I’m already happily driving the car of my dreams, none of this mattered to me. Then an invite came through that shattered my peace of mind. It was to the launch of the McLaren 650S in Bahrain, which took place at Moda Mall last month. I’ve been following the progress of this amazing machine ever since the first teaser pictures came out. I love the look of the front, which closely resembles the awesome McLaren P1, and it goes faster than the 12C too. With a 650PS (or 641bhp) engine that’ll take it from 0-100km/h in three seconds and on to a top speed of 333km/h, it’s just about quick enough for my liking! A P1 is completely out of my reach, not least because they’re all sold out, but a 650S… suddenly, the ‘car of my dreams’ is not looking so dreamy… Then more unsettling news, as I was invited to attend yet another spectacular launch, this time of the all-new Lamborghini Huracan at the Ritz Carlton, and once again temptation reared its ugly head. This drop-dead gorgeous supercar is the new V10 to replace the outgoing Gallardo (which I loved), but while many said that the Gallardo didn’t look ‘exotic’ enough to be a Lamborghini, the Huracan answers those complaints by looking every bit the part. With a revamped version of the Gallardo’s naturally-aspirated V10, the Huracan is going to have all that glorious power, 602 horses-worth, to be exact, on hand the moment you put your foot down. Oh lord… And it doesn’t stop there. A juicy bit of news hit my inbox like a petrolbomb a few days before we went to press, and it was the announcement of the Mercedes S 65 AMG Coupe. Oh. My. Word. I’ve always been partial to sportier models over big luxury limos, but to take one of the most luxurious sedans in the world, the Mercedes S-Class, and turn it into a coupe really turns me on, especially when it looks as good as this. And then, take a gloriously beautiful and luxurious coupe, and add some AMG muscle to it, courtesy of their monstrously powerful 630hp AMG 6.0l V12 biturbo engine, and you have what just may be my actual ultimate dream car! And before you ask, no, that’s not me in the picture. I’m way hotter. This is all becoming a bit too much for me right now. I have to go and do some serious soul searching, and decide whether or not one of these cars is worth cutting back on my shoe addiction… www.ohlala-magazine.com

An Inspiring Visionary Named as one of the ‘World’s 100 Most Powerful Arabs’, Akram Miknas is a prominent businessman. He chats with Ohlala! about ‘the three P’s’ that have carried him through in life.

T

he Lebanon-born Bahraini national, is the founder of Promoseven Holdings Group, one of the largest advertising agencies in the MENA region, and under whose umbrella reside some of the most renowned brands in advertising and PR. 2008 saw his company’s subsidiary, Fortune Promoseven, make advertising history by becoming the first agency from the Middle East to win two Gold and two Silver Lions in the same year, at the Fifty-fifth Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in France. How does it feel to be among the World’s 100 Most Influential Arabs? Akram Miknas. I feel proud mainly because I’m happy to have started out in Bahrain. Being on this list manifests how Bahraini businessmen can be influential both on the Arab and international scales. This recognition sends a message to the leaders and managers of our businesses that we are doing it right, that our pursuit of excellence is working well. What’s the secret to your entrepreneurial success? AM. There are no secrets to anything, especially to success. All successful people have followed a passion, fell in love with it and put all their efforts behind it. You have to be committed to what you’re doing without being scared of failure. And if you fail, you continue to persist. What’s your philosophy? AM. My business philosophy stems from my principles; that you should be truthful in every way. We shouldn’t take what’s not ours. I believe that the truth well told speaks with people’s hearts because then there’s no ambiguity. There’s total transparency and people can deal with that. How have you overcome obstacles? AM. My belief that a day always comes after the night. If we put our heart into it, we can overcome any problem or hurdle. What do you to re-energise yourself? AM. My only de-stresser is water – I love swimming and

I want to be in the water for as long as I can. It completely relaxes and re-energises me.

“My business philosophy stems from my principles and my belief that you should be truthful in every way.”

What dreams do you still aim to achieve? AM. There are many dreams I still want to achieve and still pursue. I’m known to be a big dreamer and probably a good storyteller as well. The minute I stop dreaming or stop thinking of productivity, I’ll probably be dead. To me business isn’t all about money – it means succeeding and achieving an objective.

What has been of most importance on your journey so far? AM. Passion, persistence that comes from your intellect to pursue your passion, and to have the people who can join you in pursuing your passion. These have proven me right day after day. OHLALA!

Whatever you thought you knew about a family disagreement will be completely blown out of the water when a secret from years past suddenly makes it out into the open with devastating consequences. The lid has been threatening to come off for some time now and pressures amongst those closest to you will reach the point of no return around the 19th. You will need to take control, assert your authority and demonstrate the skills that you are known for in what will be a difficult time. On a more positive note, a planned house move will complete quickly and could see you purchasing a valuable accessory as part of the transaction. Keep it quiet to start with and further down the line you will be celebrating the financial windfall this could potentially deliver. Consider it a surprise birthday present for all of you who will be celebrating this month!

Happy Birthday Ms Leo

Giovanni reveals your destiny …

Leo At-a-Glance

Leo is the fifth sign of the Zodiac and people under this sign are often impossible to miss because of their desire to be the centre of attention. It is quite an easy feat because they are often charismatic individuals. Ambitious, determined and responsive to an audience it should come as no surprise to discover that many Leos pursue a career in stage, cinema or music. With a strong creative leaning and a love for the limelight they make up some of the most successful actors and performers in the business. They can be egotistical but beneath that ‘showy’ exterior lies a warm and surprisingly selfless personality, which often throws people’s initial perception of them. Their association with the Lion suggests they can be fierce personalities and whilst there is no disputing they are also magnetically drawn to the role of leaders and will ruffle feathers if they feel it is necessary, they are pussycats at heart.

mind then you have only things to gain from the experience. On relationships, you may have an eye on a long-term love interest that has never really taken off for one reason or another. If you really want this to work then it’s best to put some commitment behind it. Where there’s a will there’s always a way.

Virgo

Beware over-confidence this month as you fight your way through a difficult work situation against an opponent you could be underestimating. There’s no doubt that you have the drive and ambition to take on a big project but there are still question marks over your role within the organisation as a team player. You will not achieve your goals without the involvement of your colleagues on this one and until you appreciate this you could keep hitting a brick wall.

Life is progressing really well for you at the moment and positive movement with your career, better financial stability and a new opportunity to improve your experience through training, will all deliver great rewards over the coming months. August is going to prove key to your development and a house move on the horizon will see you gaining greater independence as you move away from the security of a more closeted environment. It’s going to be exciting and satisfying but just remember why you have set out on this path in the first place.

Libra

A new challenge is on the horizon and if you find the courage to accept it then the long-term rewards, as far as your career is concerned, will be substantial. You might be sceptical at first but if you allow the situation to develop with an open

Scorpio

If you have been feeling a little lost of late then a chance meeting at a social gathering offers an exciting opportunity – if you have the courage to take it. Part of your problem recently has been a lack of confidence and this may have been brought on by historical issues that you have still not completely shaken free of. If you can put all of this behind you and enjoy the moment, there is a great deal of promise for you going forward. On the financial front a property sale could be on the cards and you are set to make a tidy profit from the transaction.

Sagittarius

Capricorn

A recent relationship has dominated your thoughts and whilst it hasn’t always been plain sailing – and perhaps does not meet the approval of some of your family and friends – if it feels right to you and you allow the situation to evolve of its own accord, then things could end up working out a lot better than you may have first anticipated. The key to real success is

to curb your enthusiasm. Play hard to get if you can. It will reap rewards. On the health front, recent concerns will be put to rest after test results come back clear.

Aquarius

You’re not always at your best when you don’t feel appreciated and there is no question that this coming month your thoughts will stray towards past disappointments and forgotten loves that have let your down. Your emotions may be further heightened by the progress of others but the one thing you need to do is ensure bitterness does not set in. You have to try looking forward and focus on the things you want from your own world – the ambitions, the dreams and the possibilities.

Pisces

There’s something not quite right with your world at the moment and although you might seek to point the finger of blame at others, the answer could come from some simple self-analysis. You may have everything you want from a material perspective but are you emotionally content? This seems to be where the real challenge lies and until you overcome this you are never going to feel completely happy. You can fill your life up with as many possessions as you like but the real answer is way beyond that.

Aries

August is the month of equal challenges and amazing opportunity as you complete a new purchase and kick-start a very lucrative project. Sure it will seem scary and it is certainly going to test the strength of a relationship on occasions but the rewards further down the line will make it all worthwhile. If you can, find time for a break - your batteries will need to be fully charged to take on and succeed with what it is you are attempting. At your best you will be invincible!

Taurus

After a series of doubts and months of confusion over the next phase for your life you will be comforted to realise that everything you have strived towards will finally bear fruit over the coming weeks. August will be the starting point for some very exciting developments between now and the end of the year. Financially it could be tight until September as you find your way but there could be some lucrative revenue streams that open for you from the 21st onwards, so don’t lose sight of what you need to do and it will evolve in the right fashion for you.

Gemini

Every story has two sides and in a current family dispute it may seem that you’re only prepared to listen to your own, which isn’t helping matters. If there’s any way you can put aside foolish pride and hear out others in this escalating matter it may help everyone reach a resolution. The situation is in your hands and if you really want to make the peace then you have to instigate it. Otherwise it could be a long summer of disappointments and the year could wind up being reflected upon for all the wrong reasons. Life is too short for petty disputes.

CANCER

You’ve been feeling quite emotional of late. This could be because of a recent loss in the family or the break-up of a relationship. Of course you need to get over it but there will come a time when you have to make the move towards repairing your life and August should be the month you make that happen. On the work front a challenging time with a difficult colleague will see you come head to head and you’ll need to be at your sharpest to come out on top. Of course your task will be a little easier because you are in the right and have that indisputable fact on your side.

Ohlala’s resident philosopher, Sophie, shares her musings on the illusions of perception…

“We need an inner revolution…”

T

he summer is dawning and the island fever that we have built up all year round is reaching a crescendo. We may feel we have no time to waste but to get out and escape the sweltering, dusty desert heat to cooler abodes. To see new places that caress the eyes, to see family across the globe, to get away from work, school or maybe even family. We leave to energise and attempt to temporarily forget our monotonous routine, for work looms again in the distant yet close future. Starting the rat race again. As we have planned our trip usually well in advance and time passes, bringing us closer and closer to the day of departure, you could stop and wonder where we are keeping all those wonderful travel plans, memories and why we choose to gratify ourselves with worldly things. All year we dream, not of today, not of the now, not of the moment, but live for a point in time in

90

OHLALA!

the future where we can get away, again. Whether it is TV, needing parities, or living for the next weekend, we are so outwardly focused that we forget our inner selves… and living in the moment. We need an inner revolution to understand that our inner world has more value than the outer world and planning our escape each year over and over, year after year, for every holiday, summer, Christmas, Easter, Eid, Ramadan, short weekends etc. is just running away from life “your life” Forget science, and remember self, who are you? Better yet, what are you? What does your soul want? Surely not the Iphone, car, house, reoccurring vacation over and over again. Bigger, better, is that all there is? Because we work our lives away, just to run away again and again, going on some trip and thinking we are getting away. Away from work or our unfulfilled life, towards a vacation. Trying to forget that when we are back it all starts over again… It is like a broken record player that we keep on listening to hoping it will sound different. This summer, you have time to think about, and most importantly, feel, who you are and what you want in this life, not materially goal-orientated, but for yourself, your inner world, what would YOU like for yourself ? Enjoy the time during the summer vacation and analyse your “life”.

Love,

Sophie
