PERFORMANCE THAT NEVER ENDS

HISTORY

Ever since the company was founded in 1976, Öhlins has represented the very pinnacle of suspension technology and firmly rooted itself as an intricate part of the motorsport industry, underpinning countless world titles. That very technology has subsequently been adopted not only as the gold standard of aftermarket suspension, but is also by car and motorcycle manufacturers around the world.

Back in the 1960s, Kenth Öhlin was an up-and-coming motocross rider and showed an innate talent for mechanics. He knew how to bring the best out of his materials and soon he found himself in modifying his competitors’ bikes. By the time he started his business, he had already designed exhaust pipes, engines and – of course – shock absorbers.

Öhlins soon became synonymous with advanced suspension. The products were not only superior in terms of technology, but as Mr. Öhlin was, and still is, a very meticulous man, the quality was always outstanding. The first world championship was won in 1978, as Russian Gennady Moiseev took the 250cc title on an Öhlins equipped KTM. Since then, more than 400 world titles have followed. The success continued in road racing and soon also came in the automotive segment, in racing as well as in rally, all adding to the motorsport pedigree. But don’t get the idea that Öhlins was content, not for a minute. The company continued to grow, adding electronically controlled, semi-active suspension to its portfolio under the trademark CES. Today, this technology has revolutionized the car industry and can be found in a wide range of products from premium car manufacturers.

In the 1980s, Öhlins’ achievements caught the attention of industry giants and in 1987, Öhlins was acquired by Yamaha. Under the Japanese ownership, Öhlins had the necessary financial stability to develop into a dominating player in the industry. Twenty years later, Öhlins was considered better off on its own legs and Kenth Öhlin regained the company he once had started.

DC/Trail Fork

Say hello to the RXF34 m.2, a short travel trail fork complement to our successful fork line up. The first single crown MTB fork Öhlins built was the RXF34 m.1 but this version has few things in common with original. The RXF34 m.2 has a new chassis designed with flex patterns for precise steering and features a new air spring and OTX damper platform. The OTX damper offers 15 clicks of low speed compression adjustment, 3 position high speed compression with a pedal platform and 15 clicks of rebound adjustment. The system has excellent small bump sensitivity and will keep your front wheel planted when the trail gets rougher. OTX18 is 27% lighter than its big brother TTX18 than is found in our more gravity oriented forks RXF36, RXF38 and DH38.

RXF34 m.2 has been developed with focus on traction and control having a light and stiff fork to build confidence to go faster. Öhlins is known for it’s racing pedigree and even if short travel trail bikes are not a race category, we’ve used our performance background to raise the level of performance of this emerging market segment. With a perfect balance between traction, stiffness and weight you can just take aim and charge with confidence, knowing the RXF34 will take you there.

TTX22M2

Coil Shock

The new TTX22M m.2 builds on the supreme levels of big hit performance, traction, and control that have made the original the go-to shock choice for serious gravity riders.

The TTX22M m.2 benefits from improved bottom out performance thanks to a newly designed bump rubber, as well as the cup it sits in. This signifi cantly improves mid to end stroke control as a result of earlier engagement and more consistent, predictable support. The new design also has the added effect of lowering the risk of a hard bottom out that may affect handling.

Changing the spring and stroke is an easy operation on the TTX22 m.2, and no special tools or shock disassembly are required. The updated shock’s blue trail high-speed compression valve also provides a wider ad justment range. This gives riders more distinct alternatives to choose from when customizing setup, with added support in the pedal mode to make the bike a more efficient climber. The golden DH compression valve retains the same adjustment range as the original, which is already perfectly optimized for gravity riding.

TTXAIR

SHOCK ABSORBER

The air spring sibling to our highly successful TTX22M coil shock.

A high performance, robust air sprung shock; available in both single (TTX1Air) or double (TTX2Air) air can options allowing you to to optimize the air volume requirements to any stroke, linkage progressivity or linkage rate. Now also featuring a new slimmer fit end-eye design on the TTX1Air to fit more frame de signs. A specific wiper seal and air sleeve lubrication reduces friction through out the service interval, and we have also increased the maximum air pressure to handle wider range of riders and e-MTB requirements.

Both versions combine the superior damping function of the TTX system together with a new air spring design; delivering both improved performance as well as strength. Öhlins brought the TTX concept into the MTB market and the technology set a new standard in damping function, a path followed by our competitors.

The TTXAir improves on an already proven package in terms of damping performance and making individual tuning simple. The metric system design has allowed us to increase the bushing overlap, to create a robust design with improved side load management. A versatile and ideal choice from trail bikes through to eMTB applications.
