KONNESSI LLC WWW.KONNESSI.COM

PROGRAMMING INTERN Internship Description: You’re sitting at home on a Saturday night, Star Wars Episode V on in the background, empty cans of RC Cola strewn about the room, trying to level up by waging epic battle against a Warlock in your Realm, when your roommate looks up from his bag of cheese doodles and says, "Psh, look at the FPS problem you’re having while you’re walking around Dalaran... I could develop a patch to fix that for you." Well, you need to get out more, and we’d like your roommate’s digits. But before you hit up gamerharmony.com, find out if your roommate knows anything about PHP and MySQL, because we need him to know that kind of stuff. Also, see if hes keen on Joomla and Wordpress, because that helps too. Photoshop? Server admin? Linux and/or CentOS? Bonus, bonus, and/or double bonus. Now, go back to Blizzard and see if you can score some QT with that cute Mage that nearly slayed you in Ashenvale. And tell your roommate to shoot us an email. But first, have him wipe the orange crap off his fingers by the time he comes in for an interview - we don’t want one of our other interns to have to clean that junk off our keyboards. For programmers, it can be a cruel, cruel world sometimes. Many employers just don’t understand the importance of 24/7 access to caffeine. They don’t approve when you occasionally pause in the middle of a line of code to play a quick game of Bejeweled or check on the latest Penny Arcade strip. Fortunately for those of you reaching for a tissue right now, there IS hope. Konnessi, a Providence-based business firm specializing in web design, social media marketing, and search engine optimization, is hoping to recruit a programming intern. Although the internship is unpaid, it qualifies for course credit and can even turn into a part-time or full-time job for the right individuals. We like our programmers to be familiar with PHP, CSS, JSP, and CSI: Miami. And we take our caffeine very seriously. If the words Drupal, Joomla, and Wordpress sound like programs you’ve used, rather than Dr. Seuss characters, please get in touch, and make sure to include a resume as well as anything else you think we should see—whether its software you’ve written, what you’re looking for in a relationship, or that AWESOME web page you built using only the AutoShapes from Word. Qualifications: Applicants should be familiar with: - CMSs, particularly Joomla! and Wordpress. Drupal knowledge a plus. - FTP clients and connecting to FTP servers. - Version-management software (SVN) - LAMP/WAMP/MAMP/XAMP, or at least setting up a local PHP / MySQL development server Applicants should be proficient in: - Object Oriented PHP 5+ - JavaScript (and JQuery) - MySQL and writing (fairly complex) SQL statements and aggregate functions - (X)HTML and CSS - Working both independently and with a team on projects Bonus points if you: - are familiar with Adobe Photoshop or Fireworks and image slicing - are a mountaintop Linux guru - are fan of Regular Expressions - have a personality and sense of humor - have other skills that you think you could put to good use at Konnessi • Hours Per Week: N/a • Wage/ Salary: N/a Application Instructions: Please submit a résumé and links (or attachments) of work you have done or PHP code we can look at.
