Your Pathway Program

Pathway Program Overview

Our Pathway Program is your springboard to colleges and universities in Canada and the USA. Our program prepares students for postsecondary study and is customized to the needs of each individual learner. From the moment you book your course with us we offer you personalized and individual attention and provide you with a coordinator, all of which will ensure your success and provide you with the foundation and skills needed for a brighter future. Our partner institutions recognize our levels, eliminating the need for an entry exam such as IELTS, TOEIC or TOEFL*. * Please note IELTS or TOEFL scores may be required for all competitive programs and also certain postgraduate and graduate programs.

English Language Studies

Classes are available in-person, online, or as a blended learning combination of the two. Our teachers are trained in methodology which builds upon the Common European Framework for Languages, and have also received training in the successful delivery of online classes. Our Pathway Program teaches all the specific skills that postsecondary students should have at their disposal. Using our exciting elective syllabus and tutorials throughout their studies, students can truly have a personalized experience. This can include learning new study skills, academic English and language for the world of business and study. There is a strong focus on language acquisition and realworld application. In our morning classes Pathway students will have the opportunity to expand on the building blocks of language (grammar, vocabulary and functional language) and also practice them while developing their language skills – speaking, listening, reading, writing and mediation.

In Canada, Pathway students will take the Intensive 30 or Super-Intensive 40 course consisting of 45 minute lessons. In the USA, Pathway students will take the Intensive 27 or Super-Intensive 36 course consisting of 50 minute lessons. The elective lessons provide students the opportunity to specialize in, or explore further, a particular area of interest, or to address an area of challenge. Both programs offer 18/20 morning lessons and either 9/10 or 18/20 elective lessons in the afternoon. Elective packages are available for both the Super-Intensive and Intensive Courses. Electives packages are curated selections of classes catering to several areas of interest and providing variety while still addressing the specific needs of each student. The Academic English Super-Intensive Package is an excellent choice for Pathways students and consists of electives focusing on Academic Reading and Writing, Academic Speaking and Writing, Global Leadership, Debate and Presentation. Our system is highly regarded, and upon successful completion of our Pathway Program you will gain seamless entry to one of our 50+ partner universities and colleges.

Your Pathway Program

Post-Secondary Studies

Choosing the course that best fits your educational and geographical needs is just as important as developing your English skills. Our partner institutions offer the flexibility of certificates and diplomas, in addition to undergraduate and post-graduate degrees, in a variety of academic fields. You will find the perfect campus to suit your preferences at one of our diverse partner institutions located across Canada and the US.

Pathway Program Director

We have a dedicated Pathway Director on staff to help pathway students and their overseas advisors by providing necessary support through the enrolment process and helping students choose the right university or college. Once students start the program, the Coordinator meets with them regularly to check on progress and respond to concerns or questions and to provide updates. Your Pathway Coordinator also acts as a liaison between students and our partner institutions, ensuring that you are well prepared for post-secondary studies at the end of your English course. With thorough knowledge of our partner institutions’ programs and requirements, our Pathway Coordinator ensures all details are taken care of and information is passed on accurately and efficiently.

Connected with Your Pathway Institution

We want to ensure that you become familiar with the programs and policies of your college or university. Your Pathway Coordinator will keep you feeling confident and in control by connecting you with your college or university from the onset of your English studies. This could include campus tours and presentations by visiting representatives.

Conditional Letter of Acceptance

Many partners will be able to provide a conditional letter of acceptance upon registration in our Pathway Program

From the moment you book your course with us we offer you personalized and individual attention and provide you with a coordinator, all of which will ensure your success and provide you with the foundation and skills needed for a brighter future.

Progress Guarantee

Premium Academic Quality

We guarantee that you will progress to your Target English level or you study for free* If you have not progressed to your desired English level by the end of your studies, you will be entitled to additional classes at no extra charge until you reach your Target English level. Target English Level is defined as the level that you are working towards completing.

In all of our courses, we aim to empower the learner and prepare them for today’s world. When students graduate from our Pathways Program, they are ready to use the English they have learned in their place of study. Classes are available in-person, online, or as a blended learning combination of the two.

*Please note: Specific terms and conditions apply.

Our teachers are trained in methodology which builds upon the Common European Framework for Languages, and have also received training in the successful delivery of online classes.

21st Century Skills

Pathway students establish or build on a firm foundation across all the skills, using critical thinking and a combination of modern technology and tried and-tested pedagogical practices to improve their learning experience. It is extremely important to us that students not only learn new language structures, but also use them actively in their everyday life. Training in critical thinking allows students to develop and share their opinions, with a focus on interaction and sharing information. Students are guided in their learning to develop their productive, receptive as well as mediation skills. • Productive skills are an indication of how much or well a student can speak or write. • Receptive skills indicate the student’s ability to understand what they hear or read around them. • Finally, in mediation, the student is able to transfer information (written or spoken) from one source to a recipient to receive and respond to information, and in return act as a facilitator or intermediary. In making this last step, students are truly prepared to use their English in a meaningful way in their lives.
