WHAT ARE THE LEADING

Affiliate Marketing Niches?

By Jon Allo

T

he best affiliate marketing niches, or markets, are those that will not go out of fashion anytime soon. But with so many different products and services now available online, what are the best affiliate marketing niches for your online business ideas?

If you've been searching for online business ideas, you will have heard about the strategy of affiliate marketing. This is when you promote the products or services of other people and when you make a sale, the product owner pays you a commission. First, you find a product that you like and that you think will sell well. Then you start to promote it to a targeted audience. It can be a digital product that is used on the internet or downloaded straight to the customer's computer, or a tangible item that is actually delivered to the customer's front door. The most successful affiliate marketing niches, or markets, are those that will always be popular. The top so-called evergreen niches of health, wealth and romance will never go out of fashion as people in this market will always have problems they want to sort out and will be on the lookout for someone or something to solve them. There are, of course, other affiliate marketing niche ideas that you could consider. So let’s have a look at the top 10 to choose from.

1: : Relationships.

2: : Diet and Fitness.

This is one of the top affiliate niches online. You can find a variety of internet business ideas from people wanting to meet a compatible partner, people wanting to save their existing relationships and people who want to get back with their ex-partner. But if your online business ideas are more about selling tangible products, this may not be the niche for you as it’s primarily digital information-based products.

This niche is evergreen in nature, suitable for both genders and many age groups, plus it offers a wide range of online business ideas to sell both digital and tangible items. There are many online information courses to help with weight loss. On the tangible side there are many products like treadmills, elliptical machines, DVD exercise sets, Kettlebells, supplements and more.

13 Inner Circle Executive • Autumn 2014

www.CWWICE.com

7: : Parenting.

Money and wealth will always be a popular niche. It mainly has digital information product courses available to promote. This is a competitive market sector but can provide a very profitable online business if you reach the appropriate audience with the appropriate product.

This will always be one of the popular affiliate marketing niches. Moms and dads like to get advice on raising their kids, but there are also many tangible items to buy like nursery furniture, toys, clothes, and educational items.

8: : Domestic Pets. 4: : Self Help. Within the the self help niche there are plenty of online business opportunities. For example, people are always looking to improve their frame of mind with stress relief and relaxation. You can promote a digital training course and combine it with tangible products like calming candle lights, health supplements, stress-busting devices, and even massage technology.

5: : Insomnia. Sleep disorders are widespread and there are both digital and tangible products available for you to promote as an affiliate marketer. In addition to digital courses, there are tangible products like improved bedding, calming CDs, sleep masks, white noise machines, sleep supplements, and more.

If you have a pet in your house, you know how much you love it. People are like that all over the world. Dogs, cats, and tropical fish are the most popular affiliate marketing niches. There are digital products on things like how to care for tropical fish and tangible items like aquariums, pet food, treats and toys.

9: : Household & Home. There are many online business ideas for both the indoor and outdoor entrepreneur. Householders are always buying items like mixers, vacuum cleaners, mowers, garden storage sheds, gardening products and more. They also buy digital information products to go with them. This can be anything from how to grow potatoes to how to cook them!

10: : Hobbies & Leisure. 6: : Coffee and Gourmet Foods. When you have someone who is an enthusiast for coffee, they’ll spend a lot of money on a variety of things from courses teaching them about the topic to special tangible items like coffee grinders, brewers, beans, etc.

Movement Is Blessed

Program By

Dr. Marium Murad

E

ven though we are gifted with many senses, our vision dominates our decision making. The human eye views the visible external appearance and most of our opinions are based on what is perceived by visual clues. If it looks appealing, we buy it. If it looks appetizing, we eat it. If it appears attractive, we fall in love. Internal beauty is often neglected. The internal body functions are not clearly visible. We might feel an ache here or a cramp there. True beauty is inner peace of the mind and the proper functioning of our internal metabolism. We can rub and scrub over the skin, apply perfumed lotions or color coordinated make up of our choice. However internally, it’s black or white. It works or it doesn’t. You feel good or you’re having a bad day. You can enjoy the meal or you cannot. Internally the body works non-stop. The heart beats and the blood flows in and out of every crack and corner on the inside. Blood flow must be efficient and effective to remove trash from our organs and bring in proper nutrition. Proper circulation is the key to inner health. If your lifestyle is touched by a dash of inactivity or your body is not as youthful or active as it once was, the “Movement is Blessed” © Program is custom-made for you.

True beauty is inner peace of the mind and the proper functioning of our internal metabolism.

You move externally, your blood moves internally.

The “Movement is Blessed” © Program teaches you specific movements to increase circulation. This program is custom-designed for those with health conditions, unable to go to the gym. If you do not or cannot exercise, try the MB Program to improve circulation. The bottom line is that if the blood doesn’t circulate efficiently, the heavy blood solids, the fats and cholesterol will start to settle down in the blood vessels. Why carry around unwanted body trash as extra weight? Revive circulation to get rid of the ‘stuck internal body trash.’ To learn more, please visit www.movementisblessed.com. Gift the MB Program to yourself or to a loved one. Healthy circulation is the key to good health. ■

Managing Partner BrookWeiner LLC Chicago, IL Recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Finance.

B

rookWeiner LLC is a full-service Chicago based CPA firm. For over 35 years, the firm has addressed the needs of business owners, wealthy individuals and early stage businesses. Today, the firm has evolved and expanded its service to include tax, audit and review, accounting services, merger and acquisition, valuation, nonprofits, litigation support and estate planning. Over the past several years the firm has addressed several areas of practice that have and continue to be the domain of international and larger regional CPA firms. These specialties include international tax planning and consultation; SOC (service organization controls) 1 and 2 reporting; internal risk assessments; audits of broker dealers, mutual and hedge funds and fund administrators. The expansion of cross border trading and investments necessitated the development of the expertise needed advise companies planning to do business in the United States the best way to organize with this country and the necessary regulations of the IRS and Homeland Security. The failure to properly plan could cause significant delays in transferring of funds and unanticipated reporting problems. Currently we represent clients from approximately 20 countries including China, Singapore, India and Brazil. The firm’s has language fluency in Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, conversational Chinese and select Indian Dialects. This coupled with the understanding of the customs and business practices of such countries allows us to educate international investors as to the vast differences between American tax and legal documentation requirements as opposed to those of their native lands. cont’d on next page

Several years ago we had the opportunity to audit several mutual funds and broker dealers. This practice rapidly expanded to include hedge funds and fund administrators. In 2011 the SEC and FINRA restricted such audits to PCAOB registered CPA firms. The introduction of such greatly expanded the arena of specialization for BrookWeiner. We went through the AICPA peer review and tri-annual PCAOB inspection and became one a select group of firms that received top grades and no negative comments as a result of that process. With the PCAOB contemplating delisting over half of the firms registered with them due to lack of activity the number of experienced firms available to undertake such services will be further limited. With a large number of funds with assets in the $5,000,000 to $350,000,000 range being unable to afford the significant audit and tax fees of the national and regional firms BrookWeiner has stepped into that sector with this specialty and is finding profitable growth in these areas As a result of our significant audit experience we also expanded into SOC 1 and 2 reviews for various service providers. The combination of our operational systems and computer control expertise has resulted in the slow but consistent expansion of services based on these skill sets.

www.CWWICE.com

Recent clarification of RIA custodial requirements by the SEC is now mandating that RIAs’ who provide such services must have a PCAOB registered CPA firm review the internal controls of the RIA and then perform a surprise internal control test within six months thereafter. Alternatively, they can opt for an annual audit by an approved CPA firm. With the Firm’s expertise in risk assessment and SOC reporting this has become an area of great potential which we are currently exploiting. As a mid-size firm we have attempted to identify areas of practice that blends both our skill sets and market opportunities to provide BrookWeiner with a stream of challenging assignments to a wide array of clients. This specialization is helping in hiring and retaining the best available talent. Additional, the firm is reviewing it industry expertise with the aim of setting up industry specialty teams. This will allow member of a team to garner advanced training in the nuances particular to that industry. These steps will help in both providing clients with improved advisory services and enhance the value of our services to our clients. ■

Adaptation Online

In the last decade, business has completely changed-evolving faster than ever recorded. Due to the introduction and gradual imposition of online commerce, bright young minds are now a necessity to survive in the corporate world. Without stating any absolutes, the business owners and decision makers that have passed their prime are having a massive amount of difficulty adjusting their business models. The technological storm that has reshaped business is sure to separate the up and coming from the come and gone.

W

hile the internet was created nearly a third of a century ago, online shopping did not take off until the late nineties. At this point, the idea still seemed completely experimental to executives and shareholders, and served more as a gimmick of a selling point than a legitimate venue. The serious online purchases began when fashion retailers seemed to realize they had more products than they could fill a store with. cont’d on next page 41 Inner Circle Executive • Autumn 2014

Young executives must have an adjustable and flexible business model to be ready for any curveballs that the marketing world may throw in the near future.

Until the year 2000, more than half of the world had never heard of the internet. With a status this low, corporate heads left the marketing and retail processes to the physical and feasible locations, like billboards and shopping centers, respectively. By 2005, the interest was being introduced in most national public schools and workplaces. As computers were finally becoming recognized for their potential usefulness in commerce, the users were becoming infatuated with the internet superhighway. Perhaps it was the introduction of computers at an age of mental development in high school, or a simply coincidental turn of events, but the newly certified, up and coming MBA graduates all seemed to ambush the internet market between 2005 and 2010. Two years after this malicious change in business, there were companies becoming established specifically through the internet medium. These slow rising entities now compose some of America’s most wealthy corporations, with names like Google, eBay, and Yahoo! These online companies were clearly onto something, and the former kings of commerce raced to adapt. While most quit after one or more failed attempts to infuse the internet, others did a smooth job of adapting. A specific example of this successful adaptation is the internet-based pizza business. This service of

www.CWWICE.com

deliver and product of fast and delicious Italian cuisine can now be ordered through the internet. Customers found this to be innovative and fun to use. This exemplified the industry’s quick thinking and ability to suit an unpredictable market. On the opposite side of the spectrum, shopping supercenters and grocery stores did a poor job of adapting to fit the advantages of the internet. They are unable to provide delivery or exclusive online products, making their websites essentially null in purpose. For all business owners and investors in the modern era, it is important to remember that the internet was created and populated with commerce extremely recently. This could foreshadow the sporadic behavior of the online market, which could change in format, usability, or any other virtual features in a matter of years. Young executives must have an adjustable and flexible business model to be ready for any curveballs that the marketing world may throw in the near future. Online commerce presents a problem for outdated executives, especially in terms of communication. As new online traditions are founded and new technology is developed, there starts to be an assumption of the knowledge that comes from the creators of the products or additions. For example, a computer program now assumes that the customer understands the basic functions of the machine. Technologies that were completely unknown a mere century ago are now controlling the way business is done. This applies more to the internet than anything else. The online world is still being constantly construed, forcing business owners to immediately adapt to achieve success. ■

CWW Member Profiles Architecture

Giovanni Fontana-Antonelli Architect UNESCO WILLIAMSBURG, NY

G

iovanni Fontana- Antonelli is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as an Outstanding Professional in the field of Government Relations. Giovanni is an Architect with UNESCO. In 1945, UNESCO was created in order to respond to the firm belief of nations, forged by two world wars in less than a generation that political and economic agreements are not enough to build a lasting peace. At a time when the world is looking for new ways to build peace and sustainable development, people must rely on the power of intelligence to innovate, expand their horizons and sustain the hope of a new humanism. UNESCO exists to bring this creative intelligence to life; for it is in the minds of men and women that the defenses of peace and the conditions for sustainable development must be built.

Upon moving from Europe to New York City, Giovanni has been working in Architecture since 1998, and keeps himself busy by getting involved with many projects. His expertise is in agriculture development, renovations, transportation, farm houses, guest houses, capacity building, sustainable and community development, international relations, urban planning, human rights, proposal writing, and research strategies. Aside from the demands of work, Giovanni enjoys spending time with friends and family, arts and music. Throughout his educational career, Giovanni earned his Master of Architecture (MArch), City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from the University of Florence. In addition, he received a certificate in Urban Planning and Urban Renewal from the University of Florence. For more information, please visit www.unesco.org

How Web Video Production Can

Help Your Business

W

By Fortay Media

eb video production has become increasingly popular as embedding technologies and broadband internet speed gets ever better. Where your business or site warrants it, using an online web presenter can help get your message across in tutorials and product guides, for example. And where a virtual tour is required, the web video really comes into its own.

The bottom line is, the Internet is now ready and able to support genuine multimedia presences for your company and your company website. In an age of file sharing and self broadcast, your customers and site users expect to see you making the best use of the technology at your disposal. Web video production allows you to make use of video files where they are the most appropriate way to get your message across. In line with all website optimization protocols, you should use a web video where a video file or moving image is genuinely the optimum way to deliver your information. Ask yourself the following question of every part of your website: would it be understood better using another method? If the answer to that question is “no”, then a web video production can simplify your site and make its user experience much better. Video is an excellent tool for site guides, product descriptions and demonstrations of the services you provide. In many cases it is much easier to show a potential customer or service user something you do, in action, rather than trying to explain it with words and still images. Also, your web video satisfies the strongest of all customer urges — which is to see something they are about to buy, “in the flesh.” The web video production on your site is ideal for making your site feel more interactive, and as long as you have the rest of the page properly optimised, the inclusion of a video file won’t confuse search engines. Unlike Flash menus, which look funky and do all kinds of flashy things when you scroll over them, but which prevent search engines from seeing the navigational structure of your site correctly, an embedded file can be optimized properly, even to the extent of directory submission. The ultimate strength of the web video is in its ability to demonstrate the use and enjoyment of a product. One of the major objections to web shopping has always been the lack of knowledge about what exactly you are going to get. A photograph of an item you have never seen before never does it the same justice as a video showing you what it is and how it works. Your web video production can bring your site to life, bring your products to life, and get your information across more clearly. Used properly, it makes your site user’s experience better. ■

Prior to following her dreams of becoming a Writer, Violet had a forty-two year career in the private and public sector. She was a Corporate Secretary in a Wall Street firm and Director of the Cabinet Office in Ontario, Canada. While still in Canada, she was encouraged to write a story on reinventing her life, which was published in an anthology of stories called Beyond Coping. Eventually she moved from Canada to Ft. After this accomplishment, she was offered a position writing

articles for a political newsletter and ultimately became its co-editor. Although Violet has always written short stories since she learned to write at the age of four, it took a dream to inspire her to write a book. Although currently retired, Violet works full time to promote her most recent book. She is in the process of doing an audio book in addition to English and Spanish versions, which are available in softcover, hardcover and e-book. Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey Entrepreneurs Champion Stallions NICHOLASVILLE, KY

K

enneth and Sarah Ramsey are recognized as Pinnacle Professionals by Continental Who’s Who as a result of their impressive entrepreneurial spirit and excellence in raising champion stallions.

Married for over 55 years, Kenneth and Sarah are as dedicated to each other as they are to the sport of thoroughbred horse racing. Horse racing had always been a hobby for Kenneth but throughout his formative years, he decided to pursue alternate career paths as an entrepreneur. After graduating from the University of Kentucky on the G.I. Bill, Kenneth held several executive positions with trucking firms and then went into real estate. As the real estate business began to lose its appeal, he began to buy cellular telephone network franchises, eventually accumulating a string principally along Interstate 75 in northeastern Georgia and southeastern Kentucky. In 1994, Kenneth and his wife, Sarah, bought Almahurst Farm, outside of Nicholasville, KY., birthplace of 1918 Kentucky Derby winner Exterminator and Standardbred legend, Greyhound. The couple aptly renamed the farm, Ramsey Farm and transformed the main house and office to a living space. The Ramsey’s moved into the house and transitioned their cellular telephone business into the office. In addition, they moved their own horses to the farm which now exists as a thoroughbred operation. Although The Ramsey's had owned thoroughbreds in the late 1970’s and the early 1980's, they did not fully dedicate their lives to horse racing until purchasing the farm in the early 1990’s. By 2005, The Ramsey’s were North America’s leading owners by earnings and in 2007 they finished in the list of top 10 owners nationally.

www.CWWICE.com

Since focusing their full entrepreneurial talents within the field of horse racing, the Ramsey’s have found increasing success. Most recently, they have begun preparing their horse, Charming Kitten, to race in the Kentucky Derby for the first time in 2013. In addition, The Ramsey’s won the 2004 Eclipse Award for outstanding owners, due in large part to the success of homebred champion turf male Kitten’s Joy. That year, three of their homebreds ran in the Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships, with Kitten’s Joy finishing second in the Turf and Roses in May second in the Classic. They raced grade I winner Roses in May, winner of the 2005 Dubai World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. In 2006,The Ramsey’s won the Kentucky Thoroughbred Media award for owning the most winners at Kentucky tracks in a calendar year, marking their seventh consecutive KTM honor. In 2013, the Ramseys received the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Breeding as well. The Ramsey’s have collected a record 12 leading owner titles at Churchill Downs, including nine straight titles between the spring 2000 and spring 2004 meets. They also have been leading owners at Gulfstream Park, Keeneland, and Turfway Park, where they won two leading owner titles in 2007. In 2007, the Ramseys had three starters in the Breeders’ Cup: John C. Mabee Handicap winner Precious Kitten, who finished a surprising eighth in the Filly and Mare Turf, Vosburgh runner-up Talent Search, who finished third in the Sprint, and Cannonball, who finished third in the inaugural Juvenile Turf. ENJOY THE LUXURY OF

Working For

YOURSELF IN YOUR

HOME-BASED BUSINESS

H

by Neil Carson

aving your own home-based business can be a wonderful thing. One of the thins that makes it so attractive is that you can run it anytime you like, anywhere you are available. Read about some of the things to consider before starting a home-based business of your own.

Making a success out of any home business enterprise is only possible if you have the necessary information to establish a solid plan, right from the beginning. The following tips are intended to help you in your online business venture. You need to be able to listen to your internal time clock if you work at home or own your own business. Although there is very little you can do when your employer wants you to start your day, when you are in charge, try listening to your own body along with the needs of your potential clients or customers, to determine what that time should be.

When starting a new business, having a staff of full-time employees might not be financially possible and you may have to handle many tasks on your own.

When making the decision to start a home business, it is important for you to pick a subject or industry that you are familiar with. Remember, you are the owner, so you want to be sure you are capable of resolving issues that may arrise and providing great customer service.

Getting Started... You need a budget. It is imperative that you incorporate a well devised budget into the planning process. This budget should include a detailed, itemized list of all your expenses. Make sure you are thorough so there won’t be too many unexpected surprises. Set working hours. You might want to work through the night, but that will lead to burnout sooner or later. Try to be as consistent as possible so that you know what to expect in your day. If you end your work day at 6:00 pm, try to avoid continuing until 8:00 pm. Whenever possible, obey your own boundaries. Contact a business lawyer in your area before you actually start your business. There may be laws that your state has established regarding home businesses that you may not be aware of. A business attorney will inform you of what the laws are and what you need to do in order to follow them. It is also important to be advised about loans, taxes, deductions, licenses, etc.

Check with your city hall or the city planning office to learn if there are any zoning regulations that will inhibit you from starting your home business. You may find yourself being ordered to cease operations down the road if you are breaking any of the zoning laws in your area. Decide if you are going to be involved in every aspect of the business. As the business grows and money flows in, you can think about hiring personnel to call customers, collect receivables and thousands of other tasks that a small business needs to get done. If you have a niche of repeat customers or want to increase your customer base, be sure to advertise and/or drop off coupons at places where they do business or are employed. For example, if your product is popular among mothers of young children, utilize pediatrician’s offices, preschools, day care centers and other similar places to make your product or service known to your targeted audience.

A Few More Tips... A good online business owner is creative and resourceful when it comes to generating business ideas and leads. Making the business profitable takes a good understanding of sales and marketing techniques. Do your research to learn about and utilize the many options that are available to you. At first, it may be stressful, but you will become more effective over time, ensuring the success of your home business enterprise. Another great home-based business tip is to buy a new computer. Purchasing a new computer for your business is smart because you’ll be able to write it off as a business deduction. You just have to make sure that you write it off the year in which you buy it. Utilize the information provided to build your home business enterprise into a successful and thriving venture. If you apply these tips to your business, you are sure to reap the many benefits of working for yourself and enjoy having a home-based business. ■
