curate your life That magical week is here. It’s the one time of the year that Miami charges towards South Beach and over the bridge to the Design District, Wynwood and Midtown to bask in the luminous art glow. There are more invitations going around than anyone knows what to do with, but we know where you and every art dealing, loving, buying person wants to be. Drink plenty of water, get as much rest as possible on your down time and join us for a very special event that will surely satisfy your insatiable thirst for culture. After all, they don’t call us the Magic City for nothing.
Paradise at PAMM Perez Art Museum Miami 1100 Biscayne Boulevard I Miami, FL 33132 There is no way you can think of Contemporary or Modern art in Miami and not think of what has now become a world class destination - the Perez Art Museum Miami. The architecture is breathtaking, the layout inviting, the landscaping undeniably some of the best in the city. Its collection of art will blow you away. This year PAMM made Art Basel its business, serving as the host of one of Miami’s top parties and modern art exhibits. PAMM has teamed up with Opulence International Realty, South Florida Opulence Magazine and other luxury companies to sponsor a VIP event with 400 high profile guests. What is all the commotion, you ask? As any seasoned Art Basel connoisseur would say “it’s Basel.” PAMM has put together a show for the senses: a living piece of art being unveiled for the very first time. The main event is Future Brown featuring Kelela. Thursday December 4, 2014, it’s going down at PAMM Presents. Beats and genre-breaking music are only the beginning. The museum has chosen an artist that created an interactive experience, bringing visual, the sparkling bay surrounding the museum and audio into play. The event will begin at 8pm and go on ‘til midnight. Where Basel takes you from there…only the Art Gods can tell you.

The Design District:
Give me MOORE
Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) - in the Moore Building 4040 NE 2 Avenue I Miami, FL 33137 After several months’ debate of what would be the best location in Miami to revive the art-loving spirit of the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art), Miami’s greatest art minds came up with what we believe was the perfect choice. The Moore building is now where Louboutin lovers, art collectors, art dealers, tattooed hipsters, and suburban moms who enjoy art gallery gallivanting on their time off can all join together to get an eyeful of the Design District’s most historic, iconic, and beautiful architecture. Lucky for us all, The ICA Miami has an incredible lineup for Art Basel 2014. “Shifting the Paradigm: The Art of George Edozie” will be the main event at ICM’s Art Basel Reception kick off on December 2nd, 2014. George Edozie is a Nigerian artist who has gained international fame. It’ll be his first time headlining as a leading artist; exhibiting at such a high profile event is a great omen for the future of his career. The show will be up through December 7th, when we all kiss another magical “Basel” goodbye. We’ll be there and suggest you be there too!
SCOPE out some Art SCOPE MIAMI BEACH PAVILION Ocean Drive at 9th + 10th I Miami Beach, FL 33139 Commonly referred to as the “incubator for emerging work” SCOPE is more than a venue that showcases art. SCOPE is where you live, breathe, eat and see art. Prepare to be stimulated by the sights and sounds while being entranced by the unique perspectives of each artist. Art Basel has always caught the attention of the rich and famous. In the vein of this never-ending trend, world-renowned music producer and artist “Swizz Beats” will be acting as curator for his o w n collection. Titled the Dean Collection, the pieces selected by Swizz are a reflection of what he’s encountered during his travels around the world. Besides the star power backing SCOPE, you’ll also find there are no limits, there is no standard, there is no normal. Many local artists will be exhibited at SCOPE this year; if history truly does repeat itself, we’ll be seeing more of these artists from this point forward. SCOPE has been both a huge turning point in the careers of international and local unknowns and a place to simultaneously rub elbows with some of the greatest and best-known artists of our day. Do yourself the favor and SCOPE it out.

EAT Morimoto at the Shelborne Hotel 1801 Collins Ave I Miami, FL 33139 I 305.531.1271 The words Iron Chef and Morimoto are synonymous. There’s also buzz revolving around a very exclusive dinner party Morimoto is hosting in honor of Art Basel. Tickets are available for purchase, but even if you don’t get the golden ticket, treat yourself.

SEE Really, just SEE! Whether you’re in Wynwood, Miami Beach or the Design District, Art Basel is all around you with provocative installations beckoning you to snap a selfie with them. A lot of these installations will also come to life before your eyes, as it isn’t uncommon for the artists themselves to use their bodies in different ways to fuse with their work.
