SERENA WOODARD, PITTSBURG CO. Serena Woodard is a true 4-H leader. She has found her passion for leadership and community service through her involvement in 4-H. Her “Woodard’s Workshops,” through which she teaches youth about agriculture, reached national attention when she named the National 4-H Agriculture Youth in Action award winner.

MADISON STEPHENS, CUSTER CO. Madison Stephens said 4-H gave her an outlet to express her creativity. Through her project work, Madison recently wrote a historical fiction play about the Oklahoma Land Run, and performed the play for elementary schools, veterans groups and senior centers. Additionally, Madison hosts princess tea parties for young girls to raise money for the Children’s Hospital.

CONRAD MOFFAT, CLEVELAND CO. Conrad Moffat demonstrates what it means to be a servant leader. Through his agriculture project work, Conrad secured a plot of land to establish a community garden. Conrad manages all aspects of the garden, including designing the garden plot, building the planter boxes and planting produce. All produce grown are donated to community members in need.

Now, Rylee and her family raise bees, which she said is her main focus through her project work. Rylee said she enjoys teaching workshops about beekeeping, honey production and the importance of bees.

DELANEY HALEY, LINCOLN CO. During her five-year 4-H career, Delaney Haley has given numerous speeches demonstrations and workshops promoting the dairy industry in Oklahoma. From an early age, she has exhibited her dairy cattle at county, state and national shows. Her favorite activity is making butter from her jersey cow cream in baby food jars with pre-k students.

KARINA FENG, CLEVELAND CO. Karina Feng has focused her fabrics and fashions project work to help others in her community. She founded the Adult Clothing Protector service project, through which she brings people together to make adult bibs for nursing home residents and hospital patients. In total, Karina has reached more than 20,000 individuals through her countless service projects.

LEXIE LERBLANCE, PITTSBURG CO. One might say Lexie Lerblance is a 4-H legacy. As a 4-H member, Lexie served the program as a State 4-H Ambassador and State 4-H Leadership Council member. She spearheaded her service project, the TLC Wig Closet, as a way to offer wigs and head coverings to cancer patients. Lexie is a 2016 Oklahoma 4-H Hall of Fame winner.

CHARITY PULLIAM, NOBLE CO. Charity Pulliam’s has focused her fabrics and fashions project work on positively impacting others’ lives. During her nine-year 4-H career, Charity has reached more than 20,000 individuals through workshops and demonstrations. Charity’s service project, Prayer Quilts, was a statewide initiative to make quilts for children staying at the Children’s Hospital in OKC.

KRISTEN CHAPA, MARSHALL CO. Kristen Chapa is the definition of an active 4-H member. Kristen is involved in the safety, leadership and public speaking projects. She has served in leadership roles on the county, district and state levels and is a strong advocate for the 4-H program. Her most memorable 4-H activity is serving as a Clover Buddy at Special Clovers Camp for youth with special needs.

HARLIE SHAVER, CARTER CO. Harlie Shaver has spent her 10-year 4-H career serving others. She has spent countless hours supporting the Ronald McDonald House and has collected 1,000 toys for Toys for Tots. Active in the health and fitness project, Harlie is a State Healthy Living Ambassador and enjoys presenting workshops about dental hygiene.

MAISON PETERSON, PITTSBURG CO. Although Maison was in 4-H for just four years, she left her mark on the program. She took advantage of all opportunities presented to her, participating in contests, community service projects and more. HANNAH KORNELE, WOODS CO. Hannah Kornele has been an active 4-H member for nine years and found her passion in the leadership and retraction and leisure project areas. KAREN WECKLER, PAYNE CO. Karen Weckler has been an active 4-H member since she was 9 years old. She has learned invaluable life skills through her family and consumer sciences project work, focusing on healthy living, cooking and decision making. Karen said her favorite 4-H experience was representing Oklahoma at the National FCS Skillathon contest in 2016.

JEBIDIAH STUBBS, CLEVELAND CO. Jebidiah Stubbs credits his eight-year 4-H career for developing him into the leader he is today. He took the initiative to start a sheep club in his county where he teaches other 4-H members how to care and manage lambs and show lambs. Jebidiah said he enjoys sharing his passion for the sheep industry and hopes to inspire others to start their own sheep project.

ABAGAIL COLTEN, HARPER CO. Abagail Colten is a high-caliber 4-H member, representing Oklahoma in two national 4-H shooting sports competitions. In addition to shooting sports, Abagail excels in meat judging and photography. She enjoys combining her passions for shooting sports and photography by taking photos of her area gun club members and making photo albums for their enjoyment.

BLAKE WHITE, GRADY CO. Blake White, an eight-year member, discovered his passion for geology though his 4-H involvement. Blake is a member of his county’s Teen Leaders Club, through which he enjoys conducting workshops focused on his project area. He works to inform his community about the importance of preserving soils through improved farming and gardening practices.

DAVID WALL, PAYNE CO. David Wall took advantage of all the opportunities the 4-H program offers. Focusing his project work on wildlife conservation and outdoor recreation, David spent the majority of his nine-year 4-H career teaching other youth about the importance of wildlife and natural resource conservation. He also led several community service projects, making a difference in others’ lives.

CATHERINE STANGL, KINGFISHER CO. Throughout the course of her eight-year 4-H career, Catherine Stangl developed her passion for the swine industry. In addition to exhibiting swine, Catherine enjoys promoting swine on the district and state levels through informational booths, educational games and sharing pork recipes with the public. She also is a leader in the program, serving as a county ambassador.
WHAT ASPECT OF 4-H HAS HAD THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON YOUR LIFE? “As a younger 4-H member, I always looked up to the older members who led and encouraged me. Now that I’m a senior member, I enjoy doing the same to our county’s young members and seeing how they grow in 4-H.”
