We’ve arrived, just in time for the holidays. It’s only taken 20 years, but here we are, landing in the United States and we are so excited. You may not know us yet, but when we first started in England two decades ago, they didn’t know us either. But after a lot of hard work and many classic and more quirky designs, our luxury furniture and décor can now be found in homes across England - and hopefully soon in yours too. In the following pages, you will see a small snippet of who we are and you can explore our new US collection, showcased in homes designed by us, where we reveal a range of interior styles and demonstrate how you can play with texture, color and layering, to create your own sophisticated style, as well as adding festive touches along the way. DESIGNED IN ENGLAND, INSPIRED BY THE WORLD OKA is synonymous with good taste and excellent English style, a look that translates across the globe. It fits effortlessly into any home, regardless of whether it is traditional or contemporary. The company was originally established in England, and, due to its innovative and high-quality collections, was an instant success, finding its way into the homes of celebrities and royalty alike. It has been described by Vogue as “the stylish solution to any interior dilemma.” The brand was launched in 1999 by three friends - Annabel Astor, Sue Jones and Lucinda Waterhouse who set out in search of the finest craftspeople in the world, traveling to some of the most remote towns, before creating a collection of exceptional quality furniture and décor.
Each Founder has different styles, skills and experience, and this has been the secret to their success. Each design had to be loved by all of them in order for it to become part of the collection. Having started their journey in a barn in the English countryside, within a couple of years, they opened their first (of many) stores and became a well-known brand in England. But they had another ambition: to launch in the United States. Twenty years later, their dream is becoming a reality.

here’s nowhere else we’d rather be snowed in on a winter’s day. This stylish Greenwich Village apartment has all the trappings of one of New York’s finest hotels, but it feels very welcoming and cozy. When dressing the space for Christmas, fun golden touches were added to the table, alongside colored glassware and LED candles. An easy way to create drama is to hang it above the table: a chandelier can be given a festive twist just by adding some faux flowers.

Deep plum and red wine hues work well at Christmas, so the walls were painted a rich eggplant then alchemilla accents were introduced, as these two colors are often found together in nature. A variety of comforting textures were also included - velvet, aged leather, faux fur - to soften the metal, mirrored and dark wooden furniture. Mixing different metals used to be considered a huge faux pas, but the combination of traditional brass and contemporary chrome provides a beautiful balance.

hen I was decorating this Georgian home in Bath, I wanted to take the history of the building into consideration but also add worldly twists. By combining cultures and styles, you can create such depth,“ Co-Founder and Creative Director Sue Jones says. “The architecture of the house makes it perfect for the holidays, it’s so spacious and the high ceilings allow for a very tall Christmas tree. The simple mantelpiece needed only a garland of foliage to give it a festive makeover.”

“I always decorate with faux flowers and berries at Christmas, so when there’s no room on the table, it’s time to get creative.” Sue Jones 16
“I wanted every room that you entered to feel like an experience - each different from the other, but loosely held together by a sense of travel and adventure,” explains Sue. “Christmas should always be fun, I think, and this dining room has lots of unique features that allow it to be. I covered the big arches with colorful foliage - it would have been a waste not to. I included plenty of little details as well - the feather placeholders just add such character,” our Creative Director says.

s a plant lover, Lucinda Waterhouse has always adored visiting the renowned Kew Gardens in London. When creating a home right around the corner, she thought it was essential to integrate a dash of nature - and even more so for the holidays.
“I wanted the house to be cozy and welcoming, but nature to be woven in throughout. I added leaf prints, faux trees, flowers and plants, as well as the floral pillows. This is a traditionally English home, with a bit of a wild twist.”

A RATHER YOGI HOLIDAY the bath immediately, you flea bag... And you may no longer be a pup but I am not ‘Laah’, I am Aunt Laah,” the reindeer said.
“Peace and good wishes, man,” Yogi Doga said, as he dumped his suitcase at the door. He had just come back from an extended sabbatical, (rumor had it he had been hit rather abruptly by the mid-thirties crisis); his hair had become long and matted and his rancid stench was something else altogether.
And that was how the Yogi Doga was welcomed back home. When he had walked out of the office doors at ‘Get Stressed and Overworked’ it was meant to be just for a year, but the dog was a new hound now. Before the day was over and struggling quite severely with jetwag, Yogi Doga started putting up posters around town. ‘Yoga Classes Available paws up if you’re keen.’
“Did you not shower for the past year either?” Aunt Laah asked, her nose high in the air. “I was just chilling Laah, learning how to connect with the people, how to keep them calm. It was amazing, I learned how to put people into a meditative state - they can be so relaxed they’re almost unconscious,” Yogi Doga said. “I’m not surprised at all, I am nearing unconsciousness from just being around you. The first issue Yogi Doga encountered was Major D. Goon scurrying around town, tearing down his posters with his over-sized sword. Then there was The Marvelous Mrs Mousham, whose juggling classes had become so popular, the whole town was hypnotized and not interested in yoga lessons. Day after day, Yogi Doga sat in his empty studio, envisioning some of his townsfolk walking through the door, but no one did. But the biggest issue the hound was facing was that he was being ostracized. His greatest friends - Lord Dashing, Our Lady of Billing, Count Pugnacious and The Earl of Barking - didn’t want anything to do with his new yogi life. He was no longer part of their fast lifestyle – preferring meditation to wild howling nights on the town, eating and drinking their bodyweight, jjumping in the pond and biting the locals. Yogi Doga was no longer one of the pack. He sstarted to become sad, whimpering late into the night with his Aunt Laah, who seemed to be the only one who didn’t think he was completely barking mad. The holidays were fast approaching h and Yogi Doga was feeling iincreasingly lonely. The days were getting colder and darker as the holidays drew nearer and Yogi Doga still sat in his studio endlessly in a downward dog position. Until one day, on Christmas Eve, there was a knock on his studio door and Miss Bertha Badgering walked in. The dog’s ears pricked up. “Bertha? You’re here?” “It appears so. I just got back from a hike in the Himalayas.” “What are you doing here?” Yogi asked, so excited to see his holiday romance that he was having to try very hard to restrain himself from licking her. “I caught a whiff that you were melancholy, so I’ve come to cheer you up. I also thought it would be fun to continue what wee started in Peru.” “You came all the way justt to see me?” Yogi asked, blushing. hing. “Of course. Why not? You u only live once. That’s whatt you kept saying on our trip.” p.” “I am just so pleased to seee you,” he grabbed the badger ger in his arms and didn’t restrain n himself this time, licking her face enthusiastically.
When they finally stopped embracing, the badger leaned forward and whispered, “I’ve got another surprise for you.” “What?” asked Yogi Doga. “Come with me,” Bertha said, grabbing his paw and walking him out of the door. She led him to the town square, where all his friends from his travels were waiting. “We’ve missed you!” they shouted. “I can’t believe you came all this way to see me,” Yogi Doga said, tears falling from his eyes. “Of course we came,” Bertha said. “You may have lost your pack but we’re your tribe.” “I think it’s time,” Miss Lilly Flipping (a mermaid who Yogi had met in the Seychelles) said. “Time for what?” Yogi asked. “Our yoga lesson, of course,” F. Dhoff Esq. said. “Really? You want a lesson?” Yogi asked, as he had started to doubt his own abilities. “Yes!” they all shouted. Soon all his friends were being led from downward dog, to child’s pose, to tree, and finally, warrior. Within minutes other townsfolk began joining in: first Dame Mia Mousetake, then The Marvelous Mrs Mousham, even Major D. Goon got involved. Yogi closed his eyes and began to guide his class into a meditation. His ears pricked up as he smelled a familiar scent. When he opened his eyes and said, “Namaste,” he noticed his pack were also seated, with their tails between their legs. “We’re sorry, Yogi,” Lord Dashing whined. “We just fear change,” The Earl of Barking said. “We’ve been thoroughly unreasonable,” Count Pugnacious added. “You have, but it’s okay. We all make mistakes. I forgive you. I want to introduce you to someone,” Yogi said. He grabbed Bertha, licking her gently on the cheek and introduced in her to his pack. That night they th threw the most barking party the town had ev ever seen, even Yogi’s old boss from ‘Get Stressed and Overworked’ was there, Colonel Stress Al Par Parka. As the clock struck twelve, Yogi thought how quickly things can change, how though fluid lilife can be and how w bad times will never last. This apartment was designed to be practical, for busy people, while also stylish. The sitting room is white and airy with classic sofas and armchairs, and a little drama was added with the pillows and bar cart - every home can benefit from a bar cart. Monochrome is perfect if you want to change up your scheme each season, by adding different colored dÊcor.

n her London home, Creative Director Sue Jones shares the inspiration behind our Ashmolean Shelves. “I was searching for elegant shelves that were sturdy enough to hold my vast library of books, but I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. hen Annabel couldn’t find the perfect dining chair for her English country home, she took to her sketch pad. As someone who often entertains a crowd, Annabel firmly believes that her guests’ comfort is just as important as the food and wine served. “A dining chair should not only be incredibly stylish, but comfortable enough so that people can enjoy the atmosphere and conversation, without wanting to rush to leave the table,” she says. So, when Annabel couldn’t find an upholstered dining chair that ticked all the boxes, she designed one herself and the Stafford was born. What makes this chair so unique is that whilst it boasts a slim silhouette (allowing you to fit more around the table), it’s still incredibly comfortable - enough so, that it could even double as a desk chair. Complete with oak legs, an intricate border of brass-colored studs and a back pull, the Stafford looks attractive from every angle. “The back of a chair is often overlooked, but it should be well designed because it’s what you see first,” says Annabel. What would you say is the biggest difference between British and American interiors? To my eye, British interiors tend to have more depth and layers than those in the US. To be fair, there is a much longer history in the UK, so more to pull from. You design with lots of prints - which would you most like to see on a piece of furniture? I design with lots of color, and vintage wallpapers often inspire my prints. When we make jacquards, I may use leftover yardage to re-cover a chair or bench, or something fun. Would you say your taste in interiors matches your taste in clothes? Yes! In fact many people say after seeing my home, they really understand my collection.
