One of my favorite hymns is entitled “Blessed Assurance.” Francis Jane Crosby was born into a family of strong Puritan ancestry in New York on March 24, 1820. As a baby, she had an eye infection which a quack doctor treated by placing hot poultices on her red and inflamed eyelids. The infection did clear up, but scars formed on the eyes, and the baby girl became blind for life. Many years later, Fanny’s friend and composer Phoebe Palmer Knapp was visiting and played a tune on the piano. Asking Fanny what it sounded like, Fanny responded “Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine!” Phoebe and Fanny then continued to sing the melody and write the lyrics together. Perfect submission, perfect delight, Visions of rapture now burst on my sight; Angels descending, bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior, all the day long; This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior, all the day long. I have always said that every person has a “story”. The above is “my story” and I lift my voice to extoll the name of Jesus! He receives all the glory and all the praise! On behalf of Linda and me – THANK YOU! Those words seem so trivial and I only wish there were a way to express it more appropriately. The Oklahoma District Council of the Assemblies of God has been gracious and benevolent to us. We are indebted and therefore, it would be impossible to ever repay the generosity that you have extended to our family. THANK YOU! I was already a credentialed minister with this District prior to our marriage on August 14, 1970. Linda has walked by my side for over 50 years of both marriage and ministry. Together we have experienced highs and lows but we are quick to proclaim that God has been so good to our family and us. We accepted our first pastorate, Okemah, Oklahoma, in 1973. In 1976 this District asked us to serve as D-CAP (District Christ’s Ambassadors President). We, along with Tony, our three-year-old son, began this incredible journey. Andrew, our second child, was born four months later and after we had spent 1976 directing our first summer of Youth Camps.
Today, along with our sons, Tony and Andrew, we are also thankful for Serena, our daughter-in-law, and our grandchildren, Emma, 19; Ally, 17; and Tyson, 15. God has been so good! I would have never been able to endure without the loving and faithful support of Linda. She has never doubted but always believed that we had come to the kingdom for such an hour as this. Thank you, sweetheart! Where have all the years gone…… Many have invested in our lives that the list would be far too long to enumerate. So many people (some that will never know) have made us who we are today. Thanks to the outstanding churches that have walked with us during our years of pastoral ministry. Many leaders and especially board members from those years are our most valued friends. Our love still reaches to Oklahoma City Capitol Hill Assembly, Elk City First Assembly, and Okemah First Assembly. In addition, there are hundreds of men and women that have served with us during Youth Camps, as CA Representatives, and as members of the District Presbytery and Executive Presbytery. Then a big word of appreciation to those who have served beside us as District Officers and Directors – plus a fantastic team of office personnel and administrative assistants that have gone above and beyond the obligation of duty and rose to the level of personal friends for life. Thanks for the memories. It has been our honor! Frank and Linda Cargill, Pastors Oklahoma Assemblies of God Ministries

The challenges that have come with 2020 have been met by our churches with innovation, adaptability and expectation. It has been interesting to watch so many of our churches in every corner of our state, work to reach and disciple people in their community. Churches have risen to the challenges and have seen incredible opportunities to share the good news of the Gospel! Through livestreaming and innovative outreach, churches have been instrumental in meeting the needs of an ever-changing environment. They bravely moved forward and made the changes necessary to continue preaching the gospel through their words and actions. These churches have proven that God is still building His church regardless of the circumstances. It has been our privilege in the Church Ministries department to partner in serving to create healthy ministers and ministries throughout the state. We accomplish through providing resources, training, and facilitating the partnerships necessary to help ministries be effective. But this does not happen without an incredible team of staff, volunteers, participants, supporters, and great leaders who provide the encouragement needed. While the year did not turn out as expected for anyone, we believe that God is using this experience to position us for ministry opportunities in the future. It is our prayer that God would continue to give us the ideas and insights to reach this generation and bring real change to our nation through the Gospel. The Church Ministries Department focused heavily on Oklahoma School of Ministry, Oklahoma Healthy Church (Acts 2 Journey), Oklahoma Network of Women Ministers, and staying connected through online means. While we were not able to hold several events through the year, the connections that we were able to make were encouraging. Oklahoma School of Ministry is a key element of training and developing leaders throughout the state who not only serve as staff, but also serve as volunteers in their local church. Building a strong foundation through doctrine and ministry courses has deepened the bench in many churches in the state. We have encouraged pastors to connect the leadership of their church to the courses available through OSOM. The Oklahoma Network of Women Ministers cohort has been growing and expanding as well. They have stayed connected throughout the year which has provided the encouragement
and challenge to fulfill the call that God has placed on their lives. We are grateful for the many women who have dedicated themselves to the call of God on their lives and are actively pursuing it in a variety of ways! We were able to complete all four of our Acts 2 Journey retreats in spite of the challenges of meeting together. As a part of our Oklahoma Healthy Church Initiative, we believe that every community must have a healthy church that is effectively reaching people for the Kingdom. It has been our privilege to walk with these churches through the steps to be healthy in 2021 and beyond. Already, they have seen amazing miracles that have happened as a result of this vital training and resource! There are many more great reports that we could give, but will save them for the Committee Report. Regardless, we want to say thank you to each one for your support and love for us. Thank you to Kyler Clapp (Admin), Sherri Anderson (OSOM Admin), Mark and Nancy Fitzgerald (OSSOM), Martin and Janice Perryman (Senior Adult), and the many others who serve on the various Church Ministries Committees. Each one is a valuable team member who serves with excellence! Nyree and I count it an honor to serve and look forward to all that is going to happen in 2021 and beyond. We believe that God has great plans for the Oklahoma District and count it an honor to be in the center of what He is doing! If we can do anything to serve or partner with you in your leadership role or local church, feel free to let us know. The best is yet to come! Respectfully submitted, Chad and Nyree Brodrick Church Ministries Directors

2020 – The Year of a Historic Pandemic. A modern-day plague, the likes of which the world had not seen in approximately 100 years, since the Spanish-Flu pandemic of 1918. Prognosticators declared FEAR was our “New Normal”. Masks, isolation and shut-downs were our “New Normal” but the true Bride Church somehow arose out of the ashes of disillusionment and defeat and DECLARED right back in the face of the negative nay-sayers: “FAITH over Fear! We will EXERCISE Faith in Our God!” The churches REOPENED – virtually and in-person, here in Oklahoma on about June 1st! So, last September, despite COVID-19, we had the highest registration for Daughters Conference in 6 years. 1,085 women from seven states across America registered to attend! We only issued 115 refunds and wound up with a capacity crowd of 970. Having outgrown our previous venue, we had relocated the annual conference to the largest seating capacity church in our OKAG Family- OKC Crossroads Church. Only God could have foreseen in 2019, that we would need a church with THIS. MUCH. SPACE! But without room to spread out – we could not have had this meeting. We weren’t sure if ANYBODY would even come, but our women voted “YES” with their pocket-books. Masks were mandated for the Women’s Leadership Team and strongly encouraged for everyone else. We blocked off every other pew and fogged the building three times. In other words – we proceeded responsibly, respectful of the virus and the lives that had been lost but stopped short of cancelling an opportunity for the move of the Holy Spirit, when people were hurting so much. Their excitement and hunger was astounding! Women pressed in to the altars weeping - seeking solace from suicide and depression, etc. and left with RENEWED HOPE in God, that they were going to MAKE IT! Words actually fail to describe the Holy Ground of times like these in ALL of our lives’, friends - We simply MUST have them. ALL Glory to God our Father! Our women’s gatherings today look more multi-generational, multi-ethnic and multi-denominational than ever before, with scores of people coming from other denominational backgrounds and this was also the 4th year of our fully-operational Bilingual Women’s Conference. We are very proud of this effort and want to encourage our Hermañas to please continue to come to Daughters Conference! We are the Family of God! We are all DAUGHTERS OF THE KING - HIJAS del Rey! Currently, registration is open for this year’s 2021 bilingual Daughters Conference: September 10 – 11, 2021 with the beautiful theme: “Her Seed Will Crush.” Register now! @ OKAG. org/daughters to receive the best discounts! The Women’s Department is going into year SIX, dedicating
EVERY TUESDAY as “Prayer and Fasting Day across Oklahoma.” We are fasting corporately and praying collectively for our Nation, State and Civic Leaders, Spiritual Leaders, Cities, Homes and Families. WE NEED REVIVAL!!! We invite you to join us in asking God for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all the above! It’s the only way FORWARD friends. Thank you. In 2020, Oklahoma ranked at the very top in National AG District Women’s Mission’s Giving, operating on an annual budget of approximately $500,000 and giving back over $330,000 to Foreign and U.S. Missions, Women’s-related Ministries and Non-profits. Our Oklahoma District women are mighty powerhouses, that help to send Missionaries, sustain Teen Challenge Centers, provide monetarily for ChildCare Agencies; Widows and countless other worthy financial endeavors throughout the year. I rarely have to tell a missionary “NO” and it’s because of YOU. Thank you to every church and individual who pledged and/or gave at our January LIFE RALLIES and to our L.I.F.E. Missionary Fund. “They can GO because we GIVE.” Thank you! It remains a high honor, to “Lead by Serving” every day in this office. I count it a “privilege” to help SEND Global Servants and to travel our State, presenting ministry at Sectional Councils, local Women’s Events and church services throughout the year. I LOVE CONNECTING WITH YOU! I love our OKAG Family! Thank you for your continued confidence. I am humbled and blessed to have this opportunity in my life. Friends, if I can serve you or the women of your church in any way, please reach out to me at Susie.Purkey@okag.org. Respectfully submitted, Susie Purkey Women’s Ministries Director
YOUTH HE AT H C ORRAL ES
In a year of changing plans and calling audibles, we are thankful for another wonderful year of serving the churches and student ministries of the Oklahoma District this past year as District Youth Directors. We are seeing more and more buy into the culture, “WE over ME”. We want to thank the ministers of the Oklahoma District for their support and allowing us the opportunity to share our heart for student ministry and missions in their pulpits. Our ministry consisted of church services, youth services, conventions, camps, rallies, retreats, STL Tour and services. We love the students of this generation and the youth pastors who lead them. The future is bright in Oklahoma. In the midst of a pandemic this past year, we have led the following District activities: Speed-The Light Tour, OYM and HYM conference, PK Retreat, Youth Fest, and Youth Pastor’s Retreat. We participated in many of the normal National Events such as DYD Conference and the National STL Banquet. I appreciate the Youth Committee for their help and ideas in leading the student ministries of this state. We, also, want to thank Miriam Luginu for all of her hard work and dedication to the OYM team. I am very thankful for my family: my seven year old son, Lincoln, who is full of life and excitement. Then, of course, Alisha, my beautiful wife and best friend that supports me, and all of my ridiculous ideas. Alisha, Lincoln and I appreciate you and the District Leadership for giving us this opportunity to lead this great state. I would also like to give a special thanks to our pastors, Frank and Linda Cargill, for 45 years of dedication and for believing in us, and the next generation. I will always be grateful for all you have done for us. Although, things may look a little different going into the future, we look forward to what the Lord has in store for OYM and OKAG. Respectfully submitted, Heath Corrales Youth Ministries Director
CH I LDRE N DE AN GUT HRIE
For me to say that serving in the capacity of the Children’s Ministries Director for the past 11 years has been awesome, would be an understatement. It’s kind of like getting on a roller coaster each day, but with each new day, there are new twists and turns - not to mention a few loop to loops! Needless to say it has been the ride of my life. Thank you to our Children’s Ministries Coordinators who help oversee the many ministries that make up the Oklahoma Children’s Ministries Department: District Royal Ranger Commander – Sid McCoy, District Girl’s Ministries Coordinator – Liz Moon, Junior Bible Quiz Coordinator – Steve Grisham, BGMC Coordinator – Bev Robertson Hats off to all of our Sectional Reps who are located throughout the state. Without your help, hard work, and insight, Joy and I could not do what we do effectively. Thanks, also, to the Pastors, Children’s Pastors, Leaders, and Moms and Dads who support Oklahoma Children’s Ministries throughout the year. If I am comparing my position to being on a roller coaster, then the District Office is the amusement park. It is so much fun working here. Many thanks to the Department Directors and Office Staff who are part of the team. I absolutely love serving with you. I am very thankful that God has given me someone to share the ride with, someone who has been “temporarily” filling in as the OCM Admin Assistant since last July, and someone who has had to put up with me at the office - as well as at home. Joy, thanks for riding this roller coaster with me. I could not have done this without you. Finally, thank you so much to Frank and Linda Cargill. Thanks for the talks and encouragement that you guys have given to our family. You have been - and always will be - a tremendous blessing to us and the OKAG. You have taught and shown us how to be an outstanding leader and servant of the Lord. We love you both, and we will miss you tons! Respectively submitted, Dean Guthrie Children’s Ministries Director

“I charge thee, therefore, before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom: PREACH THE WORD: be instant in season, and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. Watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.” 2 Timothy 4
