She highlighted models, all very professional, then improved on them and used stars and important people and then moved to using minorities and unusual events to capture the eye of the public as she surrounded them with excellent sto‐ries even if it meant her staff were constantly producing sets, clothes, angles to draw readers and sell copies. It made Anna synonymous with fashion from every aspect of the business as she turned journal‐ism into an art form.
Then in 2020 the end came. Har‐vey Weinstein was a friend and when he became table talk, Anna had to make some hard decisions in the #MeToo movement. The story now is whether Anna Wintour could survive the social justice movement. Marriages, romances, hiring and highlighting LGBTQ+ people, jokes changed, a queer Black woman actu‐ally became the executive editor of THEM in 2019 and thrived. Attitudes toward powerful people were changing. Sources of info dried up pretty rapidly. In a biography of such a powerful well‐known icon, would Anna reveal how she got through these years? We may never know her plan. Amy Odell, biogra‐pher, probably knows for sure and she will only tell us “it’s not in Anna’s nature to talk about herself.”

funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her skills pulled off an annual charity for which in 2008, a table went for a price of $75,000 and tickets for $7,500 to 2018 when tables cost a minimum of $200,000 and tickets $30,000. Anna’s genius for seating people was part of the success of these evenings along with 4,000 lb. floral arrangements, but as the budget went up, the profits also went up and Anna’s name grew as a great philanthropist.
