KRAMER SCHOOL OF NURSING • Academic advisement from nursing advisors starts right when you step on campus. • Study abroad opportunities in 14 different countries are available to KSN students. • Only 16 months required to earn a second bachelor’s degree in nursing. • 11 hospital systems, both urban and rural, for undergraduate clinical experience. • KSN students have a variety of academic and community organizations available to them, including the Black Nurses Association, International Nursing Student Association, Nurses Christian Fellowship, Sigma Theta Tau, and the Student Nurses Association. • RN-BSN is also offered in Norman and at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
WOLRD-CLASS FACILITIES
The Meinders Nursing Simulation Center features several key components to a cutting-edge nursing education, including seven fully equipped simulated hospital rooms. Each hospital room has an anatomically correct simulation manikin ranging from newborn to adult. These manikins are used to simulate actual patient medical scenarios to prepare students for reallife situations.

FIRST-YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS Upon admission to the university, OCU students are eligible to receive first-year academic merit awards, ranging from $8,000/year to $13,000/year. The priority deadline is March 1. A complete list of scholarships, requirements, and other information can be found online at okcu.edu/petree/scholarships. COMPETITIVE SCHOL ARSHIPS Your application for admission is also your application for competitive scholarships. Deadlines and details are below. If you would like to be considered for competitive scholarships, you must be admitted to the university and submit a resume and additional letter of recommendation by the February 1 priority deadline. All university scholarships require full-time enrollment of 12-16 credit hours per semester. CL ARA LUPER SCHOL ARSHIP Oklahoma City University’s Clara Luper Scholarship program honors this Oklahoma City civil rights leader by providing a privatecollege education to deserving students. Scholars from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds with demonstrated financial need continue Luper’s legacy of commitment to high academic achievement and community service. Recipients receive block tuition, standard room/board, and membership in the President’s Leadership Class. AMERICAN INDIAN SCHOL ARSHIP American Indian Scholars join OCU’s active Native community,which hosts annual American Indian Heritage Month activities, an annual spring competition powwow, and other cultural events throughout the year. Native scholars also participate in the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference (OIMC), which was founded by the Cherokee, Creek and Choctaw tribes in 1844 Recipients receive block tuition, standard room/board, and membership in the President’s Leadership Class. OCULEADS: PRESIDENT’S LEADERSHIP CL ASS Available to first-year students graduating from an Oklahoma high school who show strong leadership skills. Students must have a minimum of a 3.25 GPA. The $1,000 award will be offered to 10 incoming first-year students. SPEECH AND DEBATE SCHOL ARSHIP Scholarshipsare available for students interested in joining the OCU speech and debate team. This support is for team members, whether they participate in debate, competitive speech, performance, or a combination of events. Scholarship renewal requires a 3.0 GPA. WORLD HOUSE SCHOL ARS All World House Scholars willparticipate in service-learning projects each year, complete courses addressing issues of peace, justice, and ecological sustainability and are required to complete at least one approved international education experience while at Oklahoma City University. UNITED METHODIST SCHOL ARSHIPS As a United Methodist affiliated university, OCU offers several special scholarship opportunities for United Methodist Students. Please visit okcu.edu/scholarships for more information. ESPORTS SCHOL ARSHIPS Students wishing to compete on our varsity level Esports team are eligible for talent-based scholarship awards. Scholarship amounts vary and are stackable with other university merit scholarships.
