FIRST-YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS Upon admission to the university, OCU students are eligible to receive first-year academic merit awards, ranging from $8,000/year to $13,000/year. THE BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARD Business students with an ACT of 24-28 or SAT equivalent and a minimum 3.25 high school GPA will qualify for an additional $2,000 upon admission to OCU. COMPETITIVE SCHOLARSHIPS Your application for admission is also your application for competitive scholarships. Deadlines and details are below. If you would like to be considered for competitive scholarships, you must be admitted to the university and submit a resume and additional letter of recommendation by the February 1 priority deadline.
AMERICAN INDIAN SCHOLARSHIP American Indian Scholars join OCU’s active Native community,which hosts annual American Indian Heritage Month activities, an annual spring competition powwow, and other cultural events throughout the year. Native scholars also participate in the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference (OIMC), which was founded by the Cherokee, Creek and Choctaw tribes in 1844 Recipients receive block tuition, standard room/ board, and membership in the President’s Leadership Class.
All university scholarships require full-time enrollment of 12-16 credit hours per semester. NATIVE AMERICAN BUSINESS ACADEMY – CHICKASAW NATION The Chickasaw Nation has partnered with the Meinders School of Business and OCU to provide a full-tuition scholarship to five qualified Chickasaw students. Scholarship recipients will enter into the Native American Business Scholars Academy and take part in an innovative, highly-engaging academic experience. MCLAUGHLIN SCHOLARSHIP For students interested in Accounting or Finance Amount: Varies THE MEINDERS BUSINESS LEADERSHIP The Meinders Business Leadership Fellows program is a prestigious opportunity for 18 first-time, full-time freshmen students entering the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University. This unique program offers the combined opportunities of a full-tuition scholarship for four years (eight semesters) of study in the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University, and participation in an innovative program of co-curricular learning and personal development opportunities. Steven Agee Leadership Scholarship Named for the Dean of the Meinders School of Business, the Steven Agee Leadership Scholarship provides up to 10 freshmen undergraduate students with a $10,000 annual scholarship for four years. business/apply CLARA LUPER SCHOLARSHIP Oklahoma City University’s Clara Luper Scholarship program honors this Oklahoma City civil rights leader by providing a private college education to deserving students.
OCULEADS: PRESIDENT’S LEADERSHIP CLASS Available to first-year students graduating from an Oklahoma high school who show strong leadership skills. Students must have a minimum of a 3.25 GPA. The $1,000 award will be offered to 10 incoming first-year students. SPEECH AND DEBATE SCHOLARSHIP Scholarships are available for students interested in joining the OCU speech and debate team. This support is for team members, whether they participate in debate, competitive speech, performance, or a combination of events. Scholarship renewal requires a 3.0 GPA. WORLD HOUSE SCHOLARS All World House Scholars will participate in service-learning projects each year, complete courses addressing issues of peace, justice, and ecological sustainability and are required to complete at least one approved international education experience while at Oklahoma City University. UNITED METHODIST SCHOLARSHIPS As a United Methodist affiliated university, OCU offers several special scholarship opportunities for United Methodist Students. Scholarship amounts vary and are stackable with other university merit scholarships.

Each student can become certified and benefit from integrating theory with real-world practice, while setting themselves apart in a competitive job market. •Expanded opportunities for study abroad and research, such as the DOERS Program for travel to Taipei, Taiwan. •The average class size is fewer than 20 students. Individualized instruction and small classes ensure that each student receives encouragement and assistance. •100% of classes are taught by professors, not graduate students, and 90% of them hold doctorate degrees and regularly publish articles in professional journals. •92% of Meinders graduates are employed upon graduation or choose to attend graduate school.

OPPORTUNITIES YOU CAN’T GET ANYWHERE ELSE • Business students can join the Investment Club, where students are able to invest real money into the stock market. For the past 15 years, the Investment Club, which includes one undergraduate and one graduate team, have been loaned $200,000 of each fall semester by alumnus and business school namesake Herman Meinders. For the 20-21 academic year, the club was once again profitable and generated thousands of dollars in scholarship, for the 15th year in a row. • Students have the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills through faculty-sponsored business competitions, workshops and events. • MSB is home to the Economic Research Policy Institute (ERPI), which operates much like a small business. Students have the opportunity to work there, completing data analytics and economic impact studies for companies in the Oklahoma area. 100% of the students who work in ERPI are employed when they graduate.
