COMPETITIVE SCHOLARSHIPS Your application for admission is also your application for competitive scholarships. Deadlines and details are below. If you would like to be considered for competitive scholarships, you must be admitted to the university and submit a resume and additional letter of recommendation by the February 1 priority deadline.

All university scholarships require full-time enrollment of 12-16 credit hours per semester.


CL ARA LUPER SCHOL ARSHIP Oklahoma City University’s Clara Luper Scholarship program honors this Oklahoma City civil rights leader by providing a private college education to deserving students. Scholars from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds with demonstrated financial need continue Luper’s legacy of commitment to high academic achievement and community service. Recipients receive block tuition, room/board, and membership in the President's Leadership Class. AMERICAN INDIAN SCHOL ARSHIP American Indian Scholars join OCU’s active Native community, which hosts annual American Indian Heritage Month activities, an annual spring competition powwow, and other cultural events throughout the year. Native scholars also participate in the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference (OIMC), which was founded by the Cherokee, Creek and Choctaw tribes in 1844 Recipients receive block tuition, room/board, and membership in the President's Leadership Class. OCULEADS: PRESIDENT'S LEADERSHIP CL ASS Available to first-year students graduating from an Oklahoma high school who show strong leadership skills. Students must have a minimum of a 3.25 GPA. The $1,000 award will be offered to 10 incoming first-year students. MARY ELLEN & GEORGE R. RANDALL ENDOWED GREAT PL AN SCHOL ARSHIP FOR PRE-MED AND SCIENCE STUDENTS The four-year, full-tuition, room/board, and fees award will be offered to a graduating high school senior who plans to study pre-medicine at OCU. An on-campus interview will be scheduled with qualifying applicants. FRANK G. BROOKS MEMORIAL SCHOL ARSHIP The four-year, full-tuition award will be offered to a firstyear student who chooses to study biology at Oklahoma City University. An on-campus interview will be scheduled with qualifying applicants. GARY MOORE GREAT PL AN SCHOL ARSHI The $20,000 a year award will be offered to an Oklahoma graduating senior who is in the upper 10% of their graduating class, has an ACT ≥ 30, or a GPA of ≥ 3.25. The student must also be a non-smoker and plan to pursue a major within the Petree College of Arts and Sciences. BROOKE HALEY MEMORIAL SCHOL ARSHIP FOR MASS COMMUNICATIONS STUDENTS For students who demonstrate a commitment to the field of mass communications. Current, transfer, and first-year students are eligible. COMPUTER SCIENCE FELLOWS SCHOL ARSHIP This opportunity is for first-year, full-time students entering the Computer Science program at Oklahoma City University with a cumulative high school GPA ≥ 3.60. Recipients receive up to a full-tuition scholarship for four years (eight semesters) of study.

SPEECH AND DEBATE SCHOL ARSHIP Scholarships are available for students interested in joining the OCU speech and debate team. This support is for team members, whether they participate in debate, competitive speech, performance, or a combination of events. Scholarship renewal requires a 3.0 GPA. PRE-ENGINEERING STUDIES SCHOL ARSHIP Students must have ACT science and math scores of 27 (or SAT Math score of 640), or have demonstrated proficiency in high school calculus, up to full block tuition for three years (six semesters) of study. WORLD HOUSE SCHOL ARS All World House Scholars will participate in service-learning projects each year, complete courses addressing issues of peace, justice, and ecological sustainability and are required to complete at least one approved international education experience while at Oklahoma City University. UNITED METHODIST SCHOL ARSHIPS As a United Methodist affiliated university, OCU offers several special scholarship opportunities for United Methodist Students. RELIGION SCHOL ARSHIPS OCU seeks to affirm students who are discerning a calling to lifelong Christian service by providing generous scholarships to encourage study in the OCU Wimberly School of Religion. U.S. SCHAUL ENDOWED PHILOSOPHY SCHOL ARSHIP Eligible to students who are pursuing a B.A. in Philosophy. Students must have a 3.5 GPA and will be equired to maintain a 3.5 GPA each semester to renew the scholarship. GORDON TASKER SCHAUL ENGLISH SCHOL ARSHIP Eligible to students pursuing a B.A. in English. Students must have a 3.5 GPA and will be required to maintain a 3.5 GPA each year to renew the scholarship. GAME DESIGN & ANIMATION SCHOL ARSHIP (BEGINNING FALL 2021) Students majoring in Game Design & Animation will automatically be awarded the Game Design & Animation Scholarship. This award is $6,000 per academic year ($3,000 each fall and spring semester for a maximum of 8 semesters for first-year students and 6 semesters for transfer students). ESPORTS SCHOL ARSHIPS Students wishing to compete on our varsity level Esports team are eligible for talent-based scholarship awards. Scholarship amounts vary and are stackable with other university merit scholarships.
