As Director of the Love’s Entrepreneurship Center, I am delighted to welcome you to Oklahoma City University and to our 2nd annual Entrepreneurship Day forum. Once again, the Meinders School of Business and the Love’s Entrepreneurship Center present four business leaders who demonstrate amazing personal and professional accomplishments that promise to make this event motivating, informative, and entertaining. David Woods, CEO of GiANT Partners; Steve Mason, president of Cardinal Engineering; Mike Moradi, successful serial entrepreneur, and Marsh Pitman, real estate developer, will each share their personal story along with insights on overcoming obstacles and achieving success. I know that we will all learn from this group of outstanding Oklahoma entrepreneurs. Day

David Woods is CEO of GiANT Partners and former CEO of Ditch Witch Construction Equipment, the world’s largest manufacturer of underground construction equipment.

He is an expert in strategic thinking and advisory coaching with more than 30 years of building high-growth companies. Woods has recently completed a book titled, “The Art of Networking: Beyond the Handshake.” This soon-tobe-released book focuses on building life-long business relationships. Woods is an advisor to numerous companies and speaks nationwide on the topics of growth strategies, leadership, and networking.

MIKE MORADI

Day

Mr. Moradi is a successful serial entrepreneur, having founded or been a principal in several nanotechnology and biomedical startups. He is a frequent invited speaker at major industry conferences around the world, as well as state & regional events. Mr. Moradi founded Century Venture Partners in 2011, a firm that starts new technology companies, and advises early-stage technology companies, venture capital and private equity funds, and major R&D centers around the United States. He was Co-Founder and CEO of an ocular pharmaceutical R&D company, which was #264 on the 2009 Inc. 500, which ranks the fastest growing privately-held companies in the U.S. He co-founded NanoPolaris (now Unidym), which was acquired by Wisepower in 2011 for $140MM + $5MM up front. Mr. Moradi was a Co-Founder and Vice President of SouthWest NanoTechnologies (SWeNT), a leading manufacturer of single wall carbon nanotubes. He developed and managed strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, NASA, NSF, etc. Mr. Moradi was previously Vice President of Business Development for NanoSource Technologies, where he led the company’s acquisition by DuPont. This is widely considered to be the first major liquidity event in nanotechnology. Mr. Moradi earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma and has been an adjunct instructor in the Colleges of Engineering & Business. In 2003, he was awarded a community service commendation from the United States Congress, for his voluntary efforts in technology-based economic development.

STEVE MASON

Day

Steve Mason has been the president of Cardinal Engineering Inc., since 1989. He has worked full time in the waste management and environmental industry for more than 25 years. He was a member of the Solid Waste Advisory Council at the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. Mason was awarded the 2010 Distinguished Leadership Award by Leadership Oklahoma City for his extensive community service, success of Cardinal Engineering and his redevelopment efforts in the Automobile Alley district. He was awarded the 2010 Urban Pioneer Award by the OKC Plaza District Association for his work in Automobile Alley. He has redeveloped 10 buildings including Coffee Slingers, the Womb gallery, Rawhide store and the Iguana Mexican Grill restaurant. He has served as president of the Boy Scouts Last Frontier Council and president of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. He is currently a member of the MAPs Streetcar Committee, vice chairman of the Automobile Alley Association and chairman of the OKC Business Improvement District (BID). Mason was named to the OCU Hall of Honor last year.

MARSH PITMAN

Day

Marsh Pitman is a real estate developer in Oklahoma City. In 2001, he graduated from Oklahoma City University with a B.S. in Business. Two of his sons, Jonathan and Luke, also graduated from OCU with M.B.A. degrees. Presently, Marsh serves as vice-chairman of the A Chance to Change Foundation. In the past, Marsh has served as the chairman of the Bricktown Urban Design Committee and the Values Committee of Putnam City Schools, and on the boards of International Students Inc., the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and the Trinity School in Chicago. He is also a past member of the Oklahoma Judicial Nominating Committee. Marsh has been married to Debbie Pitman for 40 years and has five children and 12 grandchildren.
