AUDITION FOR THE OCU SCHOOL OF THEATRE! NOVEMBER 14 &15 February 6 & 7 March 6 & 7 For more information check out

SEPT 26 - OCT 5 Renowned first as a novel, then as a prize-winning motion picture and play, John Steinbeck’s story of the Joad family and their flight from the dust bowl of Oklahoma is familiar to all. Desperately proud, but reduced to poverty by the loss of their farm, the Joads pile their few possessions on a battered old truck and head west for California, hoping to find work and a better life. Despite the anguish and suffering that it depicts, the play becomes in the final essence a soaring and deeply moving affirmation of the indomitability of the human spirit and of the essential goodness and strength that—then as now— reside in the hearts and minds of the “common man” throughout the world.

OCT 31 - NOV 8 Somewhere in Philadelphia, Elliot has returned from Iraq and is struggling to find his place in the world. Somewhere in a chat room, recovering addicts keep each other alive, hour by hour, day by day. The boundaries of family and community are stretched across continents and cyberspace as birth families splinter and online families collide.Water By The Spoonful is a heartfelt meditation on lives on the brink of redemption.

DEC 4 - 14 This beloved American holiday classic, based on the classic American film, comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast, complete with live sound effects and commercial breaks. With the help of a small ensemble that brings numerous characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

FEB 5 - 8 Nominated for three 2002 Tony Awards and called by Time the “theater event of the year,” Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses brings Ovid’s tales to stunning visual life. Join these mythical characters around a shimmering pool of water for a glimpse of the divine. Experience the excitement of a sea battle led by Poseidon, the dangerous allure of Midas’ golden touch, and the undying passion of Orpheus. Immerse yourself in the transformative power of love.

FEB 26-28 A brilliant battle of wits takes place in this extraordinary play. Ken Harrison, a successful sculptor, is paralyzed in a car accident and kept alive by support systems in a hospital. Outwardly he’s cheerful and often very funny, but he’s overwhelmed by the fact that he has lost control of his own life. As the play begins, he is coming to the decision that if he can’t live as a man, he does not want to exist as a medical achievement. His physician, however, is utterly determined to preserve Ken’s life, regardless of its quality. Finally, despite the pleas of the doctor and his involved nurse, Ken invokes the law of habeas corpus and a judge joins the battle to determine, Whose Life Is It Anyway?

APR 1-11 Ten-year-old Joey Stoshack is a headstrong young boy with a special talent for time travel. When Joey is assigned to write a report on an African American who has made an important contribution to society, he uses his special ability to go back to Brooklyn, New York, in 1947. He meets one of baseball’s greatest players, Jackie Robinson. Joey plans on writing a prizewinning report, but he doesn’t plan on a trip that will forever change his view of history and his definition of courage.

APR 16 - 19 In April of 1995, Oklahoma City was the victim of a horrible incident of domestic terrorism. Twenty years later, the TheatreOCU company creates a new theatrical production that explores the Oklahoma City bombing using interviews and the historical records from the people who experienced it. Performed in the gorgeous Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel on the 20th Anniversary weekend, this unique production is our way to honor the victims and remember the heroes of that fateful day.
