arm water and stable weather has allowed bass fishing to be very steady this past week. The water temperatures are near 70 degrees and with the warm nights and mild winds, the lake is giving up great catches of bass. Some of the largest bass we have ever caught have been taken during this time of year. Aside from a wild shiner a flipping or pitching presentation is putting the bigger bass in the boat. Speck fishing has slowed slightly with the warm temps, persistent anglers are still catching them in along the heavy cover lines and in the thickest reeds clumps you can find. Some of the specks have moved further back into the marsh, where

they will more than likely spawn. There are a multitude of boats that are launching at the Scott Driver ramps and also at Okeetantie. The higher traffic makes ramp etiquette essential. Be considerate of other anglers/boaters when launching. Don’t back onto the ramp until you are ready to launch your boat. Nothing irritates experienced boaters more than someone backing down the ramp and then proceeding to unload their equipment from the vehicle into the boat. Make launching your boat as expedient as possible so that others may launch as well. While on the lake, stay well away from boats that are anchored. Be considerate and have a great time on the lake!
