Twenty four children and their chaperones from the island of Oshima reunited with U.S. Marines on Okinawa for the second Youth Cultural Exchange Program January 11-14. The program initially began to provide the children relief from a stressful environment after the Great East Japan Earthquake. During the children's visit they stayed with Marines at their homes, participated in activities on base and experienced the local attractions in Okinawa. The children and Marines had a great time and the program is expected to continue to cultivate the strong friendships that have been built through Operation Tomodachi and the program.
