ARE DELTA-8 THC BANS KILLING BUSINESS FOR DISPENSARIES, BUT

Helpful for Patients?!

by Nathanal Barr

Ok… let's be honest with ourselves here, you picked up this magazine because you’re either a frequent user of cannabis, fascinated by cannabis, or you’re just a cannabis hater here to get a laugh from us stoner writers justifying why we like to get high all the time. Regardless of your reasons for reading this today, cannabis is here and due to all of its wonderful medical benefits, it's here to stay. This can be confidently said because like everything that's a fact, it requires research and evidence which would have been needed before the legalization of marijuana anywhere. Not to compare the severity of cannabis and COVID19 vaccinations, but just like the pandemic we have had these past two years, scientists just like the ones that would study cannabis had to research through trial and error to finally come up with a now proven solution for the coronavirus which some people to this day are still skeptical of, this kind of goes hand to hand with the issue of legalizing and banning delta-8 THC.

(According to helthline.com) Delta-8 produces feelings similar to the wellknown THC, delta-9, and to those that don't want to experience what most would call a “high”, the lower potency may be a benefit for those particular people. Education time! When talking about cannabis most people refer to the chemically compound known as THC, they are referring to delta-9 which is a one-digit increase to the name of delta-8 that is currently banned in many legal marijuana states.

“Local retailers that don’t specialize in hemp but carry a few delta 8 products may not know enough about the nature of hemp to know that they’re carrying a genuine, safe and high-quality formula.”

This statement is followed up by the answer of whether or not delta-8 product banning is killing business for dispensaries and the website states “these products may be sitting on shelves for a long time due to low demand in your area.” This is saying that the banning of delta-8 products doesn't affect the income of dispensaries as dispensers have plenty of other and some state “better” products for patients.

The next question is whether or not delta-8 products are good for patients? This can simply be answered due to controversy around delta-8 banning, as there is not much high demand and lack of testing using a controlled group of some kind, it is better to say that even though delta-8 products may do it for some consumers doesn’t mean that it’s overall good for patients without the factual knowledge of its safety.
