7 Stoner-Friendly Activities To Do During the Christmas Season | All I wantfor Christmas is Weed!
Are you in the market for some fun and stoner-friendly activities to do during this Christmas season? I hope so! For those that celebrate Christmas, there are some particularly fun cannabisbased things to do by yourself, with friends or with family.
Now that Christmas is around the corner and there are five Saturdays in December, we have to find something to do for extra fun during the holidays. Personally, I think after the last couple of years, we could all use some fun, love, and joy. Also, while just sitting on the couch can be fun, sometimes we stoners need an activity to do and it’s always better to have fun around the holidays.
Christmas Parties and Events
During this joyous season, there will be parties, tree lightings, toy drives, and more all held in your local area or in a close city. With so many options, why pick only one? In every state I’ve spent Christmas, the zoos always have Christmas tree lightings that are beautiful.
Walk-around events like these are perfect for participating in after taking an edible, as you probably can’t and shouldn’t smoke at the zoo or a crowded function. If you can't visit the zoo, take a sober drive through the neighborhoods so you can fulfill your string light dreams.
A different event to try out our toy drives, many churches have them every year and local food banks do too.
This is a great way to give back to the community, and while you cannot and should not give out cannabis-themed toys, providing a child with just one Christmas gift is better than any strain.
Concerts
Christmas concerts flood the local theaters and big stadiums every year. If you like music, you probably love it when you mix it with THC. This is another event that will require you and your ground to ingest before, rather than during, but this should not deter you! Not only are there classical concerts with choirs and big bands, but you can find things like full Christmas musicals and giant festivals like the iHeartRadio JingleBall (that one you’d probably have to get tickets to months in advance).
You may not be thinking, “These music options sound great,” and that’s okay, not everyone likes Christmas music. However, Christmas music is the sound of the season and if you don’t want a concert full of it, make your own concert in the living room. You can certainly smoke there! (Gucci Mane has some wonderful Christmas songs that aren’t all the way on the theme, our East Atlanta Santa knows how to make Christmas fun!)
Parades
Christmas may not have as big of a hold on parade culture as Thanksgiving, but I would bet each person reading this has a Christmas parade or two, they will likely be held by their local community. A Christmas parade can be one of the most fun outings for a couple of stoners; you can chill in your car and partake as you like (don’t toke and drive though). Not only can you relax in the car, but you can also bundle up and take some chairs to sit on the side and sip on some infused hot chocolate.
Just like many families, this can be a fun and yearly tradition to add to your Christmas celebration with all your stoner friends. Even if you don’t partake in anything at the event, you can indulge in your THC favorites before or after.
Making Advent Calendars
Advent calendars were always popular where I grew up and having another that fits my current life so well sounds like so much fun. In early December, if you can take advantage of the upcoming days of Christmas and make a cannabis advent calendar, countdown the 12 Days or “Daze” of Christmas with a new strain or product everyday! All you need to do is purchase twelve different items, that aren’t too big, and wrap them up to open each day leading up to Christmas.
This is something you can do with a few friends and hang out while you shop and get all the crafts together. This might become a new tradition! Who knows? But I will be attempting to make one for my house, that’s for sure.
Infusing Anything and Everything Christmas Related
Christmas goes hand in hand with cooking and baking. If you’re a stoner, this is a perfect opportunity to start infusing your own edibles. Cannabis butter is pretty easy to make, and a machine to make it is cheaper than you’d expect. Since there are so many Christmas recipes (fruitcake, cookies, gingerbread men, pecan pie, sticky toffee pudding, etc.), you can add some THC into whatever you want! Amazon even has some pot leaf shaped cookie cutters.
Something like this can also be a great idea for a gift. A plate of cookies or a pan of brownies can be even more heartfelt than a personalized sweater, and much better than a gift card.
Gift Exchanges
A super fun way to celebrate Christmas is with our friends doing a gift exchange. There are so many different gift giving games like Secret Santa or a prize wheel, but if we want to incorporate cannabis, a Whie Elephant is the best choice in my opinion.
This is the perfect game as you only need to buy one gift each, then put them all in a pile and draw a number to see who gets what. Some perfect cannabis options are a couple grams, some cool papers, a cute t-shirt with a pot leaf on it, or anything else you can think of! This is a great way to hang out, bond, get high, and celebrate Christmas.
Travel to Santa’s Workshop and North Pole Park in Colorado
If you have some extra time to travel, a fun and extremely festive destination is The North Pole-Santa’s Workshop in Cascade, Colorado. In the base of Pikes Peak and near Colorado Springs, Christmas is all the time, everywhere, and for everyone. This amusement park is for all ages and, since it is in Colorado, you’ll be able to indulge all you want aside from smoking as the park will be full of children waiting to see Santa. (No kid needs to smell a skunk on fire when they should be smelling hot chocolate and cinnamon.) As adults, we need to be aware of things like this and allow children to have their space, too.
For all of us adults, Santa’s workshop has rides, food, and fun. After the day, you can spend your time checking out all the local dispensaries and all the other fun things to do around Colorado. There are many different places to go, if you love nature and snow, Colorado is a wonderful place to be.
With these listed activities, hopefully we can all find something fun to do this holiday season. Christmas is a time for sharing the love we have for one another, it’s perfect for trips, gifts, and just hanging out with friends. If any of these piques your interest, and you end up trying any of these, please let us know, we love to hear how it went! We hope you have a merry Christmas and happy holidays, stay safe and pass on blessings to each and every person you know. See you all next year!
