It's no secret that bongs can get pretty dirty. In fact, many smokers find it difficult to keep their bongs clean and free of resin build-up. So if your bong is in need of a good scrubbing, follow along with us!

Step 1

Gather your supplies. You will need a bottle of isopropyl alcohol (at least 91%), a bowl of warm water, and a scrub brush or sponge. If you wish to use salt for extra scrubbing power, you can also add some table salt to the mix.

Step 2

Disassemble your bong into its various parts. Start by removing the bowl and stem, followed by any downstems and percolators. Place these components in a container that is large enough to submerge them in your cleaning solution. Be sure to note which pieces go where so you can reassemble your bong later.

Step 3

Fill your container with warm water and isopropyl alcohol in a ratio of 1:1. Add some table salt if desired, stirring until the salt dissolves.

Step 4

Submerge your bong components into the cleaning solution, making sure to cover all surfaces that need to be cleaned. Let them sit for at least 10 minutes.

Step 5

After soaking, use your scrub brush or sponge to remove any remaining resin and dirt. You may need to rinse the pieces with warm water after scrubbing if they are still dirty.

Step 6

Once you have cleaned all of your bong components, rinse them off with clean warm water. Dry the pieces with a clean, lint-free cloth or paper towel and reassemble your bong. And that's it! Now you know how to clean a bong the right way. Enjoy your newly spotless bong!
