A Fruitful Partnership The Lawton Food Bank has been serving families in southwest Oklahoma for more than 30 years. In 2008, the organization established an endowment with the Lawton Community Foundation and reinvests the annual distributions to help grow the fund. They also apply for community and matching grants every year. What executive director Jeri Mosiman thinks is most important for the food bank, however, is the trustworthiness that comes with the partnership. “Being a part of the Lawton Community Foundation and in turn, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, gives us credibility,” said Jeri. “Donors can see our affiliations and they know we’ve been vetted – they KNOW we take their donations seriously.”
