King’s Entrance Exams (KEE) Yr 9/ 13+ and Yr 10/ 14+ Entry in 2022

What is the deadline for Registering for either Yr 9 or Yr 10 Entry in 2022? You must have registered by Wednesday 1st December 2021 for entry in September 2022.

How do I register for Yr 9/ 13+ and Yr 10/ 14+ Entry in 2022? Registration is via our website. Please use this link which will take you to the Registration page: https://www.kings-school.co.uk/admissions/register-deposit/ There is a non-refundable £200 fee.

When do Yr 9/ 13+ and Yr 10/ 14+ Entry KEE take place for Entry in 2022? Exams take place Saturday 8th January 2022.

What format do King’s Entrance Exams take? The King’s Entrance Exams consist of online assessments, plus a written English Paper There are four sections to complete; verbal, numerical and spatial, and the English Paper, which will test comprehension and creative writing. Q. Can I prepare for King’s Entrance Exams? A. No preparation of study or revision is required for the sitting of the Yr 9/ 13+ and Yr 10/ 14+ assessments.

Will I have an interview as part of the admission process? Post examination interviews will be arranged by The Registrar in early February (2022) by Skype.

How long do the King’s Entrance Exams take? We ask that you book in for 3 hours. However, it may not take you the full 3 hours to complete all sections. If you finish sooner, you will not be penalized.

Is there a fee to sit the King’s Entrance Exams? British Councils and exam centres will charge a fee for their time and facilities (please check locally). King’s does not make a charge for the exams.

Do the King’s Entrance Exams have to be sat on a certain day? We ask that the exams be sat on Saturday 8th January 2022 or as close to this date as possible but no earlier than Friday 7th January 2022.

Q. Do the King’s Entrance Exams have to be sat all on the same day? A. Yes.


Q. Do all three sections of the online exam need completing? A. Yes.

What am I allowed and not allowed to bring into the exam room? Allowed - Pens, Noise cancelling headphones, Scrap paper, Water, Tissues, You may need your Passport

Where can I sit King’s Entrance Exams? If you are currently outside of the UK, you can sit King’s Entrance Exams at your nearest British Council Offices or at an approved Educational Exam Centre.

Do I need to book a specific time on the day of the King’s Entrance Exam? No. You can sit the King’s Entrance Exam at any time of day.

Will I receive instructions on how to go about sitting King’s Entrance Exams at either The King’s School, Canterbury or my local British Council Offices? Yes. In November 2021 (and if you have registered) you will receive an email regarding KEE exams and a link to an online application form.

Does The King’s School arrange the appointment at the British Council? No. You will need to approach your local British Council Offices and arrange the appointment. The Exams Officers at The British Council will advise you on the process .There will be a fee to pay.

When will I know how I performed in my King’s Entrance Exams? An email containing an offer status will be sent in early February 2022.

If I am unsuccessful, may I ask for feedback? We do not release results.
