We’re Steven and Marie Le Van. Welcome to the world of Le Toy Van. We are a big hearted, honest talking family business with a lifelong passion for creating traditional wooden toys. Our story began almost three decades ago, when Georges Le Van created the first ever Le Toy Van toy, our beloved Wooden Dolls House. His vision was simple. To create beautiful, unique toys, lovingly made with intention, to stand the test of time. Fast forward a few years (and a lot of toys later) and together, we are extremely proud to sit at the helm of this wonderful business. Our mission is simple - to continue to make toys that spark young imaginations through learning based fun, ready to be cherished and enjoyed for a lifetime of play. Of course, we do this in a sustainable way too, improving processes and working towards our ‘plastic-free’ promise, to help protect our planet for a brighter tomorrow.

Our Story

1. Georges Le Van created the very first Le Toy Van toy from his workshedA beautiful wooden Dolls House.

Did you know that it can take our in-house design team up to 18 months to develop a new Le Toy Van toy? That’s because we take play very seriously. it all starts with an idea. Then, from sketches, to concepts and eventually a working 3D model, it is tested and played with by children for their seal of approvalbefore it makes it to our toy shop.

At Le Toy Van we love wood. it’s 100% natural, supremely tactile, eco-friendly, safe and long-lasting. We only ever use sustainable wood in our toys, using a combination of FSC™ - certified wood & Indonesian legal wood. these schemes ensure the wood for our toys meets the highest environmental and social standards.

and we work hard across all stages of production to meet and exceed industry standards. We create durable structures and designs, with supreme quality manufacturing, made with safe materials including natural wood and water-based paints.

Rigorous safety testing is carried out at every stage, ensuring kid safe edges and non-toxic paints for safe play every day. Our full collection is tested by the SGS laboratories, to the rigorous ASTM, BS EN-71, EN-71, AUS and CCPSIA standards.

Created to develop key senses through colour, shape, sound and texture, Le Toy Van Petilou toys are layered with fun and discovery for developing imaginations. Designed for small, inquisitive hands (and mouths) – non-toxic, water-based paints, rounded edges and no small pieces – ensure safe play every day, while our robust wooden construction means they will remain favourites for years to come.

Let’s fix it! Alex’s Work Bench is a solid and sturdy toy made out of sustainable FSC™- certified wood. Complete with 12 accessories: a saw, a hammer, a screw driver, a spanner, a spirit level, 2 bolts, 2 screws, 2 nails and a piece of wood. The base is equipped with a flatbed circular saw, a measuring gage and a vice. The back wall features a shelf to tidy the tools and a hook for the saw, with the saw outline printed on the back. Artwork also features a clock with moveable hands, a portable radio and pliers. The back board is painted in a dark grey colour and can be used as a chalk board to write a to do list. The underneath storage shelf is great to store all the bits waiting to be fixed.
