Feedback

Water tank cannot be placed above sink. Too high to reach the hose

Unstable

Too heavy to lift it up high

Have to use hands

Algae is a problem

The water stays inside of a bucket for a while and starts growing Green Algae

Factors that affect algae growth

Possible solution for algae

Flag to indicate water level Flag

Floating device

Semantic opportunities

Terracotta planter

Matryoshka dolls

Pallets

Housing

The real problem is keeping the tank filled. Housing makes adding water more difficult.

An indicator for water level could be useful.

First Installation

First Functional Pump

Plastic Trash Can

Wooden Foot Pump

Feedback and Results Good Perfect water volume. Comfortable to pump. Operation discouraged wasting water.

Feedback and Results Bad Useless and confusing faucets. Cold tap had to be left open. Weak water pressure.

Changes to the site Compost bin was added. Plants were displayed around the composting toilet. Trash can was difficult to access!

Design Flaws Wood did not hold up well. Pump was not secure enough and began to leak water.

Water Tank / Planter

Planter Match the appearance of the water tank with Greens Grow’s style.

Problems Have to make our own lid

Unstable inner sleeve Install a ledge to put the lid on

Risk of leaking water

Back to DIY

External sleeve for flag

External sleeve for flag A sleeve added on to the lid would hold the flag up. No need to drill holes in the bucket.

External structure for flag A pulley system where the flag relies on an external structure. This requires more materials and construction.

Final Installation

Without a structure
