Royal Belgian Football Association - Academic Studio Project Olaf Buchholz Stadium and park 951 000 square meters Brussels, Belgium 2015
My responsibility for this project: This project was my first Studio design in the Master program. The topic dealt with Stadium design. The time frame for this project was 3 months. Due to the large scale of the program and little time, our responsibilities have been solely based on a conceptual approach rather than a technical one. On the due date everyone was asked to submit 3xA0 posters as well as a physical model and verbally present all the materials to a panel of guest Professors.

Project Details: Client: Design Team: Type of Project: Size of Building: Location: Year:
CDC Olaf Buchholz Health care Institution 2200 square meters Windhoek, Namibia 2017
My responsibility for this project: This is my Master Thesis project which I have handed in at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences on the 29th of June 2017. The topic was based on the physical or mental recovery of the human body. I decided to base my project on HIV/AIDS in Namibia, which is currently the countries leading cause of death. The first semester we were asked to conduct all the research concerning the topic and eventually develop a design proposal in the 2nd semester. For the final submission we were asked to submit a research and a design booklet as well as models and demonstrate everything in a verbal presentation.

08. drawing exercise. Ways to look and understand
Project Details: During our Master Thesis we were given a drawing excersise where we had to choose an object where different articulations and pieces could be identified. We were then asked to disassemble, analyze and redraw all the different pieces in a catalogue format (axonometric, plans, sections), whilst establishing a graphic language for exploring certain characteristic properties of the object such as texture, color, daily use, etc. To finish off the excersise we had to alter the configuration of the object till it cant be recognized anymore. The individual pieces had to be re-scaled and multiplied in order to discover some interesting and latent spatial condition related to the human scale.

09. architectural photography. Perceiving buildings differently
Description: Having studied and worked in the field of Architecture has changed the way I look at buildings. I would see a bare concrete wall but not its off shutter joints. I would stare at an old cathedral but I wouldnt appreciate the time and effort that went into all the details. I would glance at a glass facade but not notice the beautiful reflections it creates. Architecture has trained my eye to capture these moments I would never think to shoot before. A precious moment in time, portraying a building in different perspectives, weather conditions or playing with the light and shadows. It’s remarkable how amazing the outcomes are with just one simple click. Nowadays, I have to take my camera with me everywhere I go, even if it’s just a short walk to the market. You never know what great photo opportunities could come up!
